Pearl Jam GIANT Spectrum Banner...UP FOR BIDS on Friday!

edited November 2010 in The Porch
I was inevitable that this would pop up for auction, and now that the Spectrum is finally cleaning house before the wrecking ball comes through, its finally going to be up for bids.

Ladies & gentlemen, I'm thinking that we might have a new undisputed heavyweight PJ "holy grail" memorabilia item, and I can't even imagine how much this thing will go for  . Without further adeu, the link:

HUNDREDS?!?! No way, easily in the thousands, particularly given that it is the last show banner (and even says so) ever for the Spectrum, commemorating the "Final Four Shows".

Dunno just a guesstimate..I don't participate in auctions..Whatever the amount will be I am sure it will be too much..and much more than I can afford for such a piece...lol ;)

we should wait until the last min and then buy it. and then sell off blocks off it to forum members where the $ goes towards a nonprofit (after reimbursing whoever buys it for the original purchase price)

You can actually buy seats from the arena and hockey tickets for $212 total. I did this, I pick up the seats in 2 weeks.

I would buy a block of the banner. This thing is huge. We probably could raise money for a good cause.

Thanks. Actually Eric from Wishlist was working on trying to get it from the Spectrum but I guess it fell through. Maybe we can buy it through Wishlist and then cut up/auction off. I will email Eric now...

this is way too ambitious, but there are places that make bags etc out of old banners (I have a purse made out of an old bumbershoot banner), wish there was a way to do that and then donate the profits to charity.

how do we get people not to bid on it until the last minute!? then we can swoop in and win it real cheap and then do some good things here!

If it were $190 for a pair of seats, I would probably jump in......

$190 each is a little steep though

Plus shipping that across the border? Forget about it. I'll be looking @ $250+ bucks after duty tax/shipping etc.. right after I open up the box.

They posted it on the flyers facebook page.

    I am a pa-tri-ot, and I love my.....

It'd be nice to have this but what to do with it? Seeing as it won't fit on a wall unless you call a museum home, erect a massive flag pole in your yard and fly the banner whenever the guys are on tour. Neighbors would love it :geek: :P
