I am having a hard time processing how many lies and double speak we are getting from Trump.  And it's disheartening to see some of the same people who wanted Bill Clinton out of office for his lying (I thought he should be removed, not solely for the lie though) 100% ok with Trump and his consistent lying.  It's insane.

I wish it was just that Trump is an outsider doing things differently and the left was being political.  But that's not the case.  He is a liar.  He is an Authoritarian.  He wants to run the country the way he ran his business.....he makes all decisions and no one can criticize him,  It is insane and sad to me to still see so many educated people willing to ignore so much.
I knew he was unqualified.  I knew this whole thing was a novelty to him.  I knew he'd be unpresidential on Twitter (though I may have underestimated the magnitude). I did not know, but I am not surprised, that he would spend so much time playing golf.

I was pretty sure he was going to win.  And I had hope that he would surround himself with competence. And I even had hope that he would be socially to the left.  Some of his views were unknown and/or mixed.

As someone who had never paid much attention to him before he ran, I underesimated two things:
    1. The degree to which he is so narcissistic. "Indifferent to the country he is supposed to serve" is not something I really thought going in.  Not until he started talking about crowd size.  But everything is about him and his ego.
    2. The bold part.  This is the part that I think has the potential to ruin the country.  I did not comprehend that he'd basically want to be a dictator simply because he's been surrounded by yes-men his whole life.  Checks and balances were not a part of his life.  And even if I had seen that coming, I absolutely did not realize the degree to which his base and party would accept it.  No one person can become a dictator by themselves.  His followers, and therefore his party, are allowing this; they are so dug in on being "right" that they either don't realize, or do accept, the authoritarian path that we could go down.
In my worst nightmares I thought we'd go into George W. Bush on Steroids mode; embarrassment, some bad decisions, even dumber public quites...actually Trump was probably the more anti-war* of the two candidates

*Not accounting for the idea that he may start a war just for a couple popularity points, which I now firmly believe he would be willing to do.

I knew it was bad.  And I'm a cynical guy, but this is far, far, worse than I imagined.  And, while it's early, at this point the smart money's on him winning a second term.  And the people in the red hats, jerseys, and foam fingers will celebrate.  I'll get some satisfaction to know that most of them will pay for it in the long run.
So you thought "George W. Bush on steroids" was better than Hillary Clinton?

They already are. They just don’t realize it yet and the real pain is the upcoming tax season and recession.

Why should Team Trump Treason supporters need a political party to tell them how hypocritical their Dear Leader is? Oh right, they're not smart enough to figure it out themselves.

What does this have to do with the Dems? Anybody who has been paying attention or cares already knows this. This should be used in debates and any messages during the next election by every person running for president, but until then, his supporters don't care about this or anything else unless it directly impacts them right now and can be proven to be Trump's fault.
    It's a hopeless situation...

From an email my company received regarding HVAC controls and Team Trump Treason's tariffs. Too bad they said "government" when in fact it was a unilateral action by Team Trump Treason. Team Trump Treason bears sole responsibility. This is for one product in one market segment. Just wait until all the tarriffs on all the products start kicking in. Where's the bailout for the HVAC industry? Carrier was smart for moving to Mexico. Suckers.

As many of you know, effective 7/6/18, our government imposed tariffs on electrical components imported from foreign countries.  Some of our vendors have raised prices immediately without a grace period.  We will attempt to maintain our pricing levels and honor existing quotes.  If you have a large order pending, please make sure you discuss it with our sales staff.  Additionally we encourage you to discuss open proposals with your customers and solidify appropriate caveats.

And this from the White House propaganda email this morning:

    1600 daily

    The White House • July 25, 2018

    The Day Ahead

President Donald J. Trump will meet with the President of the European Commission to discuss fairer trade deals that strengthen America’s farmers and manufacturers.

More: Under President Trump, look at what’s happening in America’s heartland.

‘We don’t apologize for America anymore’

President Trump promised to make honoring our veterans one of the top priorities of his Administration. Part of that promise means restoring American patriotism. “We don’t apologize for America anymore. We stand up for America,” the President told the Veterans of Foreign Wars national convention yesterday in Missouri.

“And we stand up for our National Anthem,” the President said to a thundering ovation.

Another part of that promise is making sure that our veterans receive the best healthcare in the world. That begins by holding the VA system accountable for misconduct and poor performance. Last June, President Trump signed the VA Accountability and Whistleblower Protection Act into law, making it easier to discipline bad actors, including senior executives.

The VA took more than 3,200 accountability actions—which include removals, suspensions, and demotions—from the beginning of the Trump Administration through the end this May. All told, those actions resulted in more than 2,500 removals from the system.

See the 3 big ways President Trump is honoring our veterans’ service.

Watch: “We stand up for our National Anthem.”

Religious persecution in Iran and China must end

Around the world, religious minorities are persecuted and stripped of human rights, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo wrote yesterday. “We need to hear the stories of those persecuted, tortured, falsely imprisoned, and killed for their faith. We can honor their sacrifices by preventing these atrocities from happening again,” he writes.

President Trump is taking action. This week, the State Department is bringing together religious leaders, survivors of persecution, and delegations from foreign governments for the first-ever Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom. Vice President Mike Pence and other senior Administration officials will be in attendance.

The goal is simple: to promote the God-given human right to believe what you choose.

The persecution of Christians, Jews, and Sunni Muslims must end.

Sweet tasting fruit from the poisonous tree. Mmmmmmmmmm, sweet. Almost as sweet as all those dots being connected by Team Mueller. Kind of reminds me of those sweet candy dots on paper that you used to get as a kid. Me thinks those are too orderly to be a fair comparison but I also think Team Mueller is lining them up quite nicely. Haven’t heard from Kelly Ann in quite awhile. Maybe she’s in Dollyville for a respite?

I wonder how many days of White House visitor logs have been scrubbed by Team Trump Treason? Remember the outrage over the Clinton and Obama white house’s refusal to release them? Team Trump Treason is a traitor. What was that again about supporting the death penalty for acts of treason? @unsung do you think there should be the death penalty for elected officials convicted of treason (although I don’t think you included the term “convicted”)?

For the sake of sanity and truth, no, the White House did not edit the video of the Trump/Putin press conference. I hope Rachel is ashamed of herself for that blunder.

Sorry, Maddow, But the White House Did Not Edit Video to Eliminate Reuters Question to Putin

I would have posted the actual WaPo article refuting that rumour, but I've reached my free article limit for the month.

Man, people are obsessed with Trump. Both the good (or what some people may perceive as "good") and the bad. I click on the "participated" tab on this website and it says like "100 new posts" everyday. And it's reasonable to believe it's like that all around the 'net. And workplace lunch rooms. And college dorms. Hell, I bet there's kids at recess talking about him. To quote the man himself, "sad."

I find it hard to believe that The Washington Post would dispute the accusation if they weren't damn sure it wasn't true.

No shit. You expect people not to be focused on someone who is actively harming the world and corroding democracy (as it stands) on a literal daily basis?

I know. It's just sad that Trump surly has always been an "any attention is good attention" type of guy and now he has the world's attention every moment of every day.
