Been away for a while. Has everyone realized that the anti-pipeline squawk on Canadian oil has been funded by American businessmen who have two major agendas:
    1) ensure Canadian oil doesn't make it to tidewater (because Canada would get more for it overseas)
    2) keep Canadian oil landlocked and therefore piped to US refineries. Because the oil can't get to tidewater and therefore no competition, the US gets Canadian oil at a discount.

All the good people who have legitimate concerns are merely pawns in a high finance poker game.  They have done a great job, killing pipelines to Eastern Canada (for some reason it's "safer" to float huge tankers from the Middle East to those refineries.  I guess it's better to fund regimes with atrocious human rights records) and the Northern Gateway (Trudeau killed that one despite it already receiving approval).
Or, instead of all the distraction, we could just work on getting off the damn needle and start helping to help clean up the planet.  That's all I care about. It's hypocritical to complain about pipelines if we aren't willing to at least try and get off that drug called oil.

Yeah, it's all a money grab, isn't it.   Money money money, everybody grabs the money.  But the health of the planet, respect for sacred lands?  Do any of them care?  Nah.

Since Keystone and two Canadian pipelines (gateway, Energy East) were stalled by big money to support US oil interests, the US has built 19000 miles of oil pipelines!
While everyone has been squabbling over our attempt to earn what we deserve from our resource, your government has quietly went about building a whack of pipelines and NOONE is protesting them.

you wonder why some Canadians are pissed off? Some people have mortgages and families just like you.  The crosshairs are pointed squarely on thEoilsands and quite respectfully sir, it is unwarranted.

These protests are are hurting good, law abiding, hard working Albertans.  We support the move to renewable energy, but it can't happen overnight.  Thwarting three pipelines won't change the world.

Or we could work together to screw over the planet.  That'd be a hoot too.

you guys do want you want with the oil that comes from your soil, as long as you keep it on your soil.

and its simply false that there were no protests related to pipelines here. Dakota Access is a MAJOR one that comes to mind.....

and correct me if I am wrong but since trump swore th oath to put business above all else, why hasnt the canadian company who was seeking to build the fucking going ahead with it now? oh THATS right, current GLOBAL prices dont allow for it to be done and make a profit.

OPEC plays its part in this too.
