And I honour your courage to put your story up on here. And I hope Come Back gets played and you'll know there will be many people thinking of you and your wife.

Grief-
When you lose someone you love,
Your life becomes strange,
The ground beneath you becomes fragile,
Your thoughts make your eyes unsure;
And some dead echo drags your voice down
Where words have no confidence
Your heart has grown heavy with loss;
And though this loss has wounded others too,
No one knows what has been taken from you
When the silence of absence deepens.
Flickers of guilt kindle regret
For all that was left unsaid or undone.
There are days when you wake up happy;
Again inside the fullness of life,
Until the moment breaks
And you are thrown back
Onto the black tide of loss.
Days when you have your heart back,
You are able to function well
Until in the middle of work or encounter,
Suddenly with no warning,
You are ambushed by grief.
It becomes hard to trust yourself.
All you can depend on now is that
Sorrow will remain faithful to itself.
More than you, it knows its way
And will find the right time
To pull and pull the rope of grief
Until that coiled hill of tears
Has reduced to its last drop.
Gradually, you will learn acquaintance
With the invisible form of your departed;
And when the work of grief is done,
The wound of loss will heal
And you will have learned
To wean your eyes
From that gap in the air
And be able to enter the hearth
In your soul where your loved one
Has awaited your return
All the time.

My heart goes out to you and your family. I sure hope this happens for you and you feel her presence with you on that night. I'm sure you will always feel her love and presence no matter the outcome.
Music seems a bit trivial at times, but I hope you are finding some comfort in PJ.. It sounds trite, but I think we have all used the music to help us through difficult times..
I hope you get your request but more importantly some solace and peace..
I'm gone ..Long gone..This time I'm letting go of it all...So long...Cause this time I'm gone
So sorry for your loss, my heart goes out to you and your family.
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.
Deeply saddened to read this my friend. What a sharp reminder how fragile this life is. I can't begin to imagine how you must be feeling right now. The time you have spent together means more than anything now and I know you'll cherish all the memories to keep her with you in spirit. I have lost many friends over the years and I find Come Back to be one of the most emotional songs PJ have. The version they played at Berlin 10 is one of the most powerful things I've ever witnessed and I hope you can get your wish. This is a side of the forums that thankfully doesn't show up that often but to see such overwhelming support is very heartening. It's real stories like this that make you notice how much of the content of threads on here are based around petty squabbles and people fishing for a reason to argue. Life is too important for this type of nonsense and this is a cold reminder that we take it for granted and that one person's life can so quickly be turned upside down. You seem to be handling this in the most positive and mature manner. I really hope you can move forward and keep her spirit alive with you on your long road. May she rest in peace and I hope you can live a long life without reaching depths like these again. All the best for the future and for your request at Wrigley. You deserve to have this one happen. Take care man....

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I did not die
I am so sorry for your loss, I cant imagine how hurtful this is. I lost my love who was also a huge PJ fan. It has been 8 years and some days are harder than others. I feel as though he is with me especially when I listen to our favorite PJ songs. The other day was his 8 year death anniversary and randomly Come Back started playing. I know your story is getting out there, Hopefully PJ will do this for you, Sarah and the PJFAM! I will be at Wrigley too, hopefully the PJ FAM can surround you with love and comfort. Take care.

I cant even comprehend what you are dealing with, life is cruel and unfair at times, but you will always have the memories. They are precious.
