How does 10c blow it for WRIGLEY?

Longtime supporter of band/10c. But this blows. It's Wrigley Field. It's a BASEBALL STADIUM. GA's supposed to be 10c only. How in the world can hardcore fans not get in via 10c-only lottery to GA section of a baseball stadium? I can't imagine 5,000 people entered for GA. And because there's no interaction from 10c/management, fans left out have no idea what actually happened.
10c gets a lot of things right and misses some. This was a huge strikeout. All the social media teasing and lottery ramp up feels like a punch in the face when the "sorry, Charlie" email shows up. MSG would be understandable. A freakin' baseball stadium for a show that won't sell out? Come on.

I know you are hurting right now....sorry man.
This. 10C had the tickets it was allocated..it seems like the demand was just far greater.

They had a limited amount of tickets available for 10c members - they allotted those and had a lottery system set up for the demand.
you're the only one who can forgive yourself oh yeah...
makes much more sense to live in the present tense...

I don't understand the surprise at an ultra low amount of GA tickets (which are only open to 10c members, btw - not for any of the other pre-sales)...
People don't see 5000 people signing up for GA? LOL How many PJ members do you think there are willing to travel to Chicago to see a rare show at Wrigley? The way I see it, if we had a 1 in 10 chance of winning GA tickets, we'd be lucky...

The pit isn't that big, so there was no way they could have met all of the demand.
People aren't complaining about not getting GA..they are complaining about not getting anything..GA, Lowers, Uppers.
"...I changed by not changing at all..."
This particular thread, in which I am posting - begins with wondering why people aren't getting selected for GA (and assuming there is tons of space in GA getting spread out amongst just a few applicants to the drawing).
It's really not that difficult to understand why - there were probably WAY more than 5000 people who tried for GA tickets - and, most likely, only a few hundred people getting into the pit.
You think that THIS band would place THOUSANDS of people in a TINY space directly in front of the stage?
Not a chance.
No communication. No interaction. No explanation.
Wrigley seats about 40k. It's an outdoor summer show at a BASEBALL STADIUM for a band that isn't nearly as big as it used to be. 10c fans should be taken care of. And, hell, I only got shut out of GA. Others struck out for all three levels. That is not acceptable and beyond the pale.
There's no way this show is "bigger" than PJ20 and it already feels like nothing's truly changed with ticketing or the 10c's interaction. At least with PJ20 and 2008-12 shows, fans had a chance, even if often was an F5 nightmare. The cruelness of the lottery -- hey, you've been a hardcore fan since 93 and supported the band through thick and then, but you're SOL via an email -- combined with the fact 40k people can get in to a stadium show makes this very rough to swallow.
And if only 1k GA tix were sold or something -- which is very hard to believe -- that still doesn't make any sense. Common, simple logic almost would've ensured anyone who's crazy enough to still be in PJ's fanclub in 2013 would get GA tix via a fanclub presale if they really wanted them. That obviously wasn't the case. And it's a f'n bummer with no fun answer other than to lose more respect for the way 10c (and, thus, the band) have been handling things the last few years.
I really, really, really wish this wasn't the case. But it is. Ugh. :(

Seriously? How many people do you think a band that has a history of losing fans in pit-rushes will squeeze into a section half the size of a baseball diamond? OVER A 1000?! This isn't the floor of a friggin basketball or hockey stadium - this is one little section of a BASEBALL FIELD that has to share space with all of the field reserved seating!
Common, simple logic would dictate that the GA section is going to be very, very small - hundreds of people, AT MOST.
2) Sponsors
3) General admission tickets
Those all have priority of 10 Club members and their allotment of tickets.

i guarantee you the pit holds more than 1000 people, if not around 2k or higher
they've played TONS of GA floor shows in the last few years. Missoula was entirely GA floor and probably upwards of 4-5k on the floor alone.
We can't have everything. Cheer up, everyone will get in that wants to get in.
where are you getting that it's the size of the baseball diamond? is there a seating chart for this show that i'm not aware of?
here's the seating chart for Bruce last year:
i would be curious to see this too
Perhaps we were very wrong to assume that the Pit would be around the same size as Bruce's. Perhaps its much smaller.
That picture illustrates it PERFECTLY! The GA section is the same size (look at the square footage) of the friggin baseball diamond in that very picture!
