I have been to about 20 shows and this was the worst crowd by far. I was in section 20 and there were piles of people sitting and messing with their phones. Why fork out $150 to for a pair of tix and then sit there tweeting and updating your facebook? If that is what you want to do, then give the money to charity and stay the fuck home. Karen's status has changed to douche bag. Embarrassing. NJ should be limited to Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi from now on. Cheers to the band for playing their 2 encores, if I was them I would have packed it in after the first set.

Additionally, I typically hate seeing people complain about 10c tickets as I think it is a great program but this show made me wonder. I got 10c tix within minutes of them going on sale and I was more than half way back. I am all for seniority, but there is no way that the 10,000 people sitting in front of me were 10c members, so I hardly see the point of getting 10c tix for this show.

Between the seats and the crowd, I would have been better off spending a little more dough to see the boys play MSG. It was a lot of travel and money to be left feeling a little bit let down by the total experience. That being said, the band themselves did not disappoint. They made the best of a lame crowd and still put up a quality effort.

ill agree that the crowd was pretty weak. i was row 12 and some of the people around me were pretty boring. we didnt let them rain on us. we smoked our wacky tabacky and rocked out.

the only embarrassing thing about the crowd was everyones patented "Brrrruuuuuccccceeee" chant to a song that he didn't write. and i felt like half of the crowd was whose tom waits?????

1 day off to rest then MSG 1 + 2 cant wait for what were in store for every MSG show is epic.

When Ed makes a comment on how quiet Newark was you know you have issues. Maybe you were tired from Boston show, Maybe it was a Tuesday night and you worked all day.....IDK what ever the reason was....Newark sucked. I have been to tons of PEARL JAM shows and this crowd was by far the worst ever. Unless PJ is playing camden....they should skip NJ for now on.....nothing but swamps anyway. I had dead center row 15 beautiful seats and everyone around me was a joke. I don't think the guy next to me even blinked.....not once. I am not saying go buck wild but sheesh move an arm or something. Ed tried and tried to get the crowd to sing (evenflow, daughter, etc EPIC FAIL)
IDK maybe I am being to harsh....but with a kickass setlist like tonight you guys really let the boys down.
Word of advice pearl jam SKIP JERSEY next time.
Maybe when just bieber or lady GUYGUY strolls in town you guys will show life.
Jeresy couldn't sell out the stadium
Half of you were sitting down
No life on the other half standing up
    SKIP JERSEY
I don't want to take away from the kickass people who know how to rock out.....some of you were animals.
Move over JERESEY we will show you how us NEW YORKERS ROCK OUT amateur hour is over.

Sorry you were there for the crowd and the crowd let you down... bro.

no doubt. the crowd police are getting old . worry about the show. funny thing is each show that people say the crowd was terrible they say the show was great????
ummmm apparently it's not affecting the band as much as you all.

I think the important thing to remember here(often forgotten on this board), is that most of us are in our mid 30's and early 40's. Not making old people excuses, but a 25 yr old with no spouse, no kids, and much more free time, should and always will rock out pretty damn hard. I still jump up and down quite a bit, but not 1/10th of what I was like in 95. Does anyone ever comment on how Eddie doesn't climp the empire state building anymore during shows...... no. Worry about yourself.

I was in Section 4 way in the back of the floor, and have no complaints. It is what you make of it. Techincally a crowd is defined as mass gather of people. You were part of that mass of people, so by the transitive property you also stink. Great set list though. I took a friend who was a first timer, and he loved every minute of it.

ive been to a lot of sporting events in my life to see my favorite teams. accompanying me were about 50,000 fans who payed the same, if not more money than me. a lot of them actually wore jerseys in support of their favorite team that theyve followed their entire life. i get totally surprised that most of them do not cheer every single pitch, every snap, every play, and sometimes sit down when their team has the ball. they only get up and get rowdy when they are inside the 20 or have bases loaded. sometimes they dont even know the names of all the players on the offensive line. good thing their names are on the jerseys. and the nerve of them to go to the bathroom, risking the chance of a big play. i try to keep my eyes on the game, but sometimes my eyes wonder to the crowd, but it doesnt phase me. i still have a great time.

anyway. if pj wants to come back to newark, i would welcome them anytime. the arena is great. i dont give a shit if people want to sit/stand/kneel/blink their eyes/fumble a lyric/dont sing every lyric to every song/etc. i had a good time. thats pretty much all that matters.

I wasn't at the show, but I can attest to the fact that a bad crowd or even just a few bad apples can really put a damper on the whole concert experience.
