Heart broken

In a radio interview during today's wings game, Chris Cheliis just announced Pearl Jam will NOT close the Joe. Major bummer. Major bummer #2, he said the band just had a meeting and decided they will not tour for a year and they taking some time off. Take it for what it's worth, but cheli would know.

It is fine with me. There are some great concerts coming up that aren't PJ and I'm happy to see those bands play.

Me, three! I agree with iwasatpj20. Lots of shows coming up and I am excited to see other bands. New PJ stuff will come in time. I'm okay with waiting until they are ready.

It kind of felt like it would be a no Pearl Jam year. Hopefully Ed does a solo album or something. That would help pass the time.

Glad I got tickets to Eddie solo and Tool at the Gorge now if this is true. My bank account could use the break lol.

My bank account could use the break as well. I'm totally fine with this but I sincerely hope that in that time they find inspiration for another album!

Not touring for a year AND taking some time off doesn't sound good for a new album anytime soon.

    2015 - toured 3 out of 52 weeks
    2016 - toured 5 out of 52 weeks

    They must be exhausted.

Not saying they have to tour. Their call. But not gonna agree that PJ tours so much they need a break. However much touring they do want to do is fine with me as any more and they would probably break up.

lol. Exactly! Plus they just had seven months off!! How much time does someone need to rest up?

I don't think it has much to do with rest. PJ is not their priority right now, and can't imagine the fire is there like it was 20 years ago for it.

I've got my PJ concert streak going since 2003 though so I hope this doesn't mean it ends in 2017.

    good points bud.
my current streak from 2008 seems to be in jeopardy. actually the only year I missed seeing pj live since '03 was '07.

Its all of you peoples' fault.

You bought all the dog collars, posters and socks.

    They don't have to tour.

There goes my 7 year streak...... oh well, my wallet is grateful. I'm also glad I bought tickets for b2b Tool shows on Memorial Day weekend too, as of now that looks to be the biggest concert experience of 2017 for me.

Hopefully we get some QOTSA & Tomahawk dates.

Maybe TOTD will do a bigger tour in the fall.........
