Rob never really roots FOR your team. He only has his best interest in mind (ie Dodgers losing = helps Giants). Or he joins a bandwagon when the G-men are out (2015 Astros).

Totally understand about AET. Just have to jump in! I don't understand nearly all the inside jokes between the same 10 people or so, but I enjoy trying!

Right? I think we can hang with 'the best' of the NL as it stands. Plus the Cubbies are losing again, so there's always that!

2 runs in the 9th! Cards win! Type of win that can propel a team. Now the Cubs need to do their part and lose again!

I know! I think Wong needed that double last night. Guy has had a TERRIBLE year. If he heats up things could really get rolling! Marlins tonight, so chance to make some WC noise early.

Len Kasper mentioned last night during the Cubs game that Gyorko has homered in both games of a double-header twice in one week. I hate to give any Cardinal props, but he's from Morgantown and went to WVU so I gotta hand it to him. Pretty amazing feat!

Did you watch it? They did it all with 2 outs, nonetheless. That was crazy!
2 out and a runner on, the following sequence happened.

    A 4-pitch walk
A HBP on the first pitch to the next batter
A single to right on the first pitch to the next batter
A single to left on the first pitch to the next batter (in a mere 7 pitches, it's a 4-3 game!)
    A 4-pitch walk
    Pitching change
    Walk the tying run in
A HBP to score the winning run

My only question is why was Busch Stadium so empty? A perennial playoff contender and the stands were bare!

Seems the 90s braves. I went to game 1 of the 03 playoffs against the cubs. I think there were more cub fans there than brave fans and it was probably 20% empty. Unappreciative bastards.

Don't have an answer for you there. A Monday night on a super humid and hot evening? It's been gnarly weather-wise this week. Anyway, Cards are slipping big time. They just can't seem to stack up wins this year. I thought maybe there was a glimmer last week - we could have cut the Cubs down to 5.5 game lead, but instead we lost a bunch of inexplicable games against the Braves of all teams. Oh well - still watching, still loving and you never know what will happen. Still plenty of ball to be played last time I checked.
