Could Binaural have been a 'classic' double LP?

Once Lost Dogs came out, did anyone put together the original Binaural tracklist from 1999 (or whenever that was leaked on the old board)? I have played with the track list a few times and come up with a double LP playlist. Would love to see you all take a stab and creating what could have been (IMHO) a double LP full of goodness.

People like me would probably say it would have been a stronger single LP if they left off Breakerfall, God's Dice, Thin Air and Evacuation.

It's already my favorite album, add those songs and it's just unfair.

    from wikipedia:

When the track listing for Binaural was first released in late March 2000, it was quite different from the final version.[52] Some tracks that were originally on the album were dropped and not released until the 2003 rarities compilation, Lost Dogs,[44] and "Gods' Dice" was added to the final version. The original version is as follows:

    "Breakerfall"
    "Insignificance"
    "Evacuation"
"Letter to the Dead" (Later renamed to "Sad")
    "Rival"
    "Grievance"
    "Light Years"
    "Of the Girl"
    "Thin Air"
    "Nothing as It Seems"
    "Fatal"
    "Sleight of Hand"
    "Soon Forget"
    "In the Moonlight"
    "Parting Ways"
    "Education"

Nah, Binaural is classic as it is.

Looking at that tracklist, ending on Education instead of Parting Ways would have been a huge mistake!

I agree with that and the "flow" of the original tracklist seems a bit off. But not including the songs they chose not to include is a head-scratcher. Evacuation over Sad, In The Moonlight, Fatal, and Education?

They were saving them for Lost Dogs. ;) Seriously. Lost Dogs is a great album, and I don't wish for one second that any of those songs weren't on it. Binaural is perfect the way it is IMO.

Why does Evacuation get shit on so much? I mean, come on - a diss on Evacuation is a diss on the OP.

There might be some truth to this; that they saved them to fill out the inevitable rarities album.

Evacuation works better than God's Dice. If we are just to talk about Binaural.

I said in a previous thread and it's just my opinion. That if B.O.B. had produced Binaural. We might have the original tracklisting version. I could see him pushing Sad and the early version of Light Years.

Who knows (although I actually think it's likely that they did know that, at least in a vague kind of way... it's a pretty normal thing for bands to do once they have several albums), but either way, I'm really glad that everything that's on LD is on it.

I think Parting Ways is PJ's very best album closer, so yeah, that would have been horrible!

I know I'm alone here but I don't think Sad is all that great. It's main chorus melody is lifted from a song by The Cure, which I'm sure is unintentional. It just doesn't do much for me.

With "you are" as #1, evacuation could be the second worst live song performed by pj. I won't even rank in the moonlight since it wasn't good enough to make binaural but it was terrible at pj20 and philly 1 this past year. after they played it at philly 1 Ed said something along the lines of "we shouldn't play that one again live." yea I understand some of you will defend these songs like you wrote them but realize 99% of the crowd listening to them will be checking their phones as they are being played.
