I m in the midst of rebuilding a world war 2 model 1903 Springfield. I just need a new trigger guard. So close!
Any more progress on the rebuild?

I am thinking about doing up a Remington 700. It would be my first project of that nature.

I'm interested in others experiences, specifically whether or not they felt it was worth the time and cost involved.

My Springfield march 45 m1 garand. I get real tight groups at 150 yards.

Nice! Glad you finally got a 10/22. The Garand looks beautiful too. One of my shooting buddies has a Garand and his really groups well. I can't help but marvel at the engineering and build quality when he brings it to the range.

This thread goes to show why your country is so screwed up with gun deaths. Las Vegas for example....

This thread goes to show you how guns can be positive and not everyone that has one is an idiot or wants to commit mass murder.

Please go back to the AMT thread with your agenda, thanks.

I'll reply to you over there, not here.

A Letter to Law-Abiding Gun Owners

You have the power. Use it.

    BY CHARLES P. PIERCE

    OCT 3, 2017

    Dear Law Abiding Gun Owners:

I know you're out there. I hear about you every time there's another massacre some place in America. I believe you exist. I know people who hunt. I don't understand them, but I know them. I know target shooters, too; I've done that myself and I get it. Truly, I do.

So here's the thing. The ball is in your court.

You're the only ones who can do it. Nobody listens to liberals on the issue. Congress is bought and paid for, where it isn't abjectly terrified. You're the only significant block of voters with the power to force the issue of actual American carnage.

As should be clear by now, the NRA's agenda is not your own. The NRA is the lobbying arm of the armaments industry. It has that industry's interests at heart and not your own. Either wrench the NRA back to its original purpose or pull out of it, all of you.

I promise you this. Nobody is going to come grab your guns, no matter what Wayne LaPierre says. It's impractical, for one thing. You will still be allowed to shoot at targets and ventilate large fauna. But you have an obligation to the country now because you're really the only people who can swing us back to sanity.

    Use your power. Save lives.

Went to the range the other day and sighted in my 30.06 at 200 yards. Pretty decent groupings but way out of practice.  I ve shot much better in the past. Looking forward to hunting season. Fall now started here but I couldn't hit shit with that lol.

I haven't fired a rifle in over two years. I'm going to need a lot of practice to regain the proficiency I have lost.

Good luck this season. Stay safe out there.

Thanks. This is an old one that was gifted to me by a client. It was his late son's rifle.

Well, as long as he’s “responsible” with it, why not? Maybe let the youths hanging out give it a go?
