    1. This thread is great!!! And really needed and much appreciated.
    2. PJ will release a new record next year. THAT´S AWESOME.
    3. I´ve seen my first PJ show this year and my first EV solo this year. I´m still happy every day because of that, that was a memory for life. Since I became a PJ fan two years ago, my life has improved and I am little bit happier each day that than I normally would be. :D
    5. PJ helped me cope with my mother´s death. I would have lost my mind otherwise, if it wasn´t for the music.
    6. The Stockholm bootleg is on its way ... :D
    5. I´m so proud of being a fan of this great band. And being on this forum is great, there are so many nice, funny and creative people here. 8-)
    6. Eddie is so damn hot.
    7. I can´t wait for the next time that I will see them, what an experience that will be. AWESOME. JUST AWESOME.

    8-)

My JA 'While My Heart Beats' shirt makes me feel like a superhero...or maybe it's 'wearing the shirt makes me feel like I look like a superhero'
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

    Adding a new one:
Last night making the last minute effort to buy flights, tickets, and book a hotel for Midtown Music from Missouri with your girl and one of your best friends because your mind can't take it anymore and you need to be there and you need a show. The spontaneous nature that PJ brings out in you. Like a damn drug.

    Ok, here is my try:

    1) The excitement I feel when the music start, the lights go off, right before the band enters the stage and all I can think is: with which song will they open, with which song will they open, with which song will they open...

    2) Meeting people from the community in Amsterdam, Berlin, before the shows, at the shows and after shows and talking about music and politics and of course: which opening song will be played

    3) Standing in the Yamamamam (I forgot the name of the) bar in Berlin, the night before the two-nighter, singing, jumping and dancing to Tremor Christ, Nothingman, holding arms, sharing a moment with people I never met in my whole life. (And probably never meet again.)

    4) The moment before the show, when the soundcheck guys are on stage - I recognize every face by now - hear the beginning notes of "You are" and I can feel the excitement building and building. Honestly, these soundcheck guys don't get enough credit on this board ;)

    5) Finally, watching Ed Vedder perform alone. Fragile. Vulnerable. Playing an alternative (and beautiful) version of Betterman.

Amen. Although I can't be one of the people to say that PJ has gotten me through a tough time (I've been wretchedly blessed) or I've turned to them at a low point (again, blessed), I can say that PJ has had an uncanny way of popping up at several great moments in our lives. Their music always seems to be the background music to some beautiful times in our lives and for that, I'm eternally grateful.

    1. very bad meeting with my supervisor today, basically throwing my whole dissertation project in the garbage, yet on the train home god's dice comes on and I think of the prague bootleg coming up and it's all a bit easier to bear.

    2. less than 2 weeks until I spontaneously fly to poland to hang out with some of the great people I've met on this year's tour. and looking forward to see them (and others) again soon-ish, maybe for a brad show.

    3. someone commented on an old fb status of mine today (before the solo tour), where I was wishing to meet eddie so I could say thanks in person...re-reading that and realizing it actually happened is beyond words.

After taking a spin around the Porch today, I think this thread warrants bumping...

Is there anything better than opening your email, a few days after a tweet, and seeing an email from 10c (or "Don O. Treply" as he's been called  ), and then seeing your city listed (or a city you can travel to)? Seriously...

Here's another one: my favorite 2 minutes of Pearl Jam is always the solo on "Alive." So fucking good...

Here's another one: my favorite 2 minutes of Pearl Jam is always the solo on "Alive." So fucking good...
    sure!

    3. When the opening chords of "Baba O'Riley" started at Amsterdam 2, I screamed really loud and my wife laughed in my face about it, and then we slapped high-5s and it was fucking awesome.
:lol::lol: I love this!!

    1. Seeing so many wonderful people at one place. It is amazing that 5 such great guys can get thousands of wonderful people in the same place at the same time. Kind of a whirl of positive energy.

    2. Walking around the town with PJ in my earphones and with a dumb smile on my face with the passers by looking at me like some kind of weirdo. :D

    3. Seeing the guys live this year for the first time and feeling like my heart is going to explode (from all the pushing in the front rows as well as all the love boiling everywhere around me). And then flying in the middle of the night through a storm to get to an other city to see them again. :D

    4. Eddie's voice on Dream A Little Dream demo. I feel like he is in the room, can almost feel the sound. :)

    5. Energy form the PJ music giving me strength to do everyday things and coping with everyday shit. :D

    6. Crazy Mike, sweet Matt, cool Jeff, funny and smart Stone and amazing Eddie on stage. Something unbelievable!

    7. Reading this thread. Made me feel great! :)

    8. Wishlist - always makes my day. :) I wish I was as fortunate as me. :)

    And all of this:

    :)

How about on the Mirrorball song "Peace And Love" when the song is just humming along with Uncle Neil wailing away, and then right in the middle (and again at the end) Ed pops in for a rocking chorus...every time I listen to it, I think to myself "hey! I know that guy! Hi Ed!"

Oh, and how about when you're out at a used record/CD shop, just browsing through the "recent arrivals" (stuff people have sold back to the store), and in the middle of a bunch of shit CDs, you find a PJ album that you already have. I can't help but think to myself every time "oh cool! It's Pearl Jam!", followed by "why the fuck would someone sell this back...I love this album!" and then I'm really tempted to buy it...even though I already have the very same album...in like 3 formats at home...:lol::lol:

PJ is a wonderful strange addiction...

    1. Taking my girlfriend to her 1st Pearl Jam show at MIA and seeing them from the 7th row!! (Made our way up starting at Run DMC and suffered through Drake) Best part, my gf is 5'2", and miraculously she had an unobstructed view almost the whole night!

    2. Watching and living the transformation of my gf from a "oh God..Pearl Jam, I can't stand EV's voice"
    (1.5 years ago)
........to...oh I guess I like that "Longing to Belong" song, its pretty (1 year ago)
.......... to "well, Into the Wild is a good album, so I like EV, but not PJ"........to "That concert was AWESOME" (Preset day-referring to MIA)

I knew she would come around!!
