I was driving around today, and I happened to turn on WMMR. I usually am listening to my PJ boots in the car, but decided to take a break and listen to the radio instead. Just as I tuned in, the deejay announced that they were doing a block of PJ!! They started out with the live Wishlist from the last Spectrum concert in '09, then played RVM, Given to Fly, Jeremy, and Just Breathe. I was very very happy!! :D:D

I wish I had a radio station that wanted to play blocks of PJ. :( The best thing we can get is that the Current here in MN (indie radio station) plays blocks of Neil.

This morning I was reading a book I recently borrowed from the library where I work, called "Sea Change". You can only imagine the huge smile on my face as I read this part: "I walked over to the reference desk and the librarian looked up. She appeared to be older than me, yet I noticed she had an earbud stuck into her left ear and what sounded like a tinny version of Pearl Jam leaking out the other bud". Well, reading this just made my day! (My husband is constantly telling me that I'm easily amused! )

Holy shit...Gangnam Style. Haha...its not Pearl Jam, but wow, it put a smile on my face today (the first time I saw it):lol::lol: .

On a PJ note, how awesome is it when Ed's talking about (on PJ20) who put Pearl Jam next to Ticketmaster, and then off-stage, they show Neil laughing it up? Its pretty, pretty, pretty good.

    1. Europe 2012 - The entire tiresome 9 days, 6 shows, 5 cities. The friendships that are forever held within my heart. The moments of absolute joy/sadness/overwhelmed emotion and the tears. Oh, the tears.

There are so many positives, but in no particular order...

    (1) The opening of my first PJ show -Wembley 96 - the band walks out in near darkness. Ed walks over to a large bowl of incense & lights it. I was about 10-12 people from the front & the smell/smoke drifted over. It was very strong and distinctive. I think I can still smell it now. Seconds later the band starts with Oceans...

    (2) Bringing my wife and two day old daughter home from the hospital in the afternoon, getting them settled in and looked after with a family member and jumping into the car and driving straight to Wembley for the show in June 07 for what was a very emotional night.

    (3) Seeing 3 shows in a week this June (Manchester 1 & 2, Amsterdam 1) and sharing those days with two of my oldset friends.

    Aaagh, where to start???.....

This afternoon, on the bus home from work, listening to music on shuffle & tears coming to my eyes when listening to Hunger Strike from a fan recording of PJ20, then tears in my eyes again when Betterman came on from the other night at PJ20 as well. Still so amazing I was there!!

Other biggest positivity is the camaraderie, the community, on the Europe tour this year. :)

I have many many moments ...
a favorite is in KC the night before the show.
I was sitting on our hotel balcony, which we were very lucky to get, thank you,
sipping wine... had been all night
I'm literally sitting in the trees ;) the wind is picking up, the light show from
the electrical heat lightening type storm is absolutely amazing.
Breathtakingly beautiful and spiritually moving, I'm feeling very connected.
PJ is playing from inside the room. I wonder to myself if Eddie is seeing this too.

The next night at the show he mentions it ... I got a funny feeling 8-)

It's the little things that mean the most :D

Even though my body is in pain from standing for 13 hours, we did get rail directly in front of Mike and it was just an absolutely great show and an experience I will never forget. It almost seems like a dream.

By the way, nice work on starting this thread because this forum needs this thread desperately.

when my best friend wasn't able to be at the Philly 4 shows with me and the only song he was hoping i heard was off he goes ..... On night 3 - Ed told a story about Ben Harper being such a good friend and one of the things about touring is they aren't always with their friends when they wish they could be (paraphrasing) and then played Off He Goes.
    it was surreal

    1. Tearing up reading this thread and thinking about how many people this band has touched.

    2. Seeing PJ open for Neil Young with my best friend as my first PJ concert.

    3. Driving to Atlanta GA from Toronto, with the same best friend, to see PJ at Midtown. And getting to spend the night watching the band I love most with the 4 people I love most...cherished memories.

    4. Driving down to Boston with 2 best friends (Apparently I do not know the meaning of BEST) to see PJ and then on a whim deciding to stay for the 2nd show and blowing off work - so amazing!!

    5. FINALLY getting floor seats with my 10C number for night 2 in Toronto last September AND as a bonus getting to see Neil night 1!!!

Basically, anytime I get to see them live is amazing... but getting to see them live with the same group of friends for the last 20 years has been so special. THANK YOU PEARL JAM!!!

    And thanks OP...great thread. :D

    Great Pearl Jam day today.

Started out listening to Berlin II. Good audience bootleg - Great official bootleg!

Stopped by the local resale record/video store, called "Disc Replay". Browsing the pre-owned CD's. No copies in the slot, but it's still cool seeing the "Mad Season" section. A little down the aisle, the "Mother Love Bone" section, with five copies of the MLB release. Still more browsing...love this store's Pearl Jam section!

Every album, including Rearviewmirror and Lost Dogs, with the exception of Ten, Ten Reissue, and Backspacer, had at least one, and most had multiple copies. Not only that, but there are singles issued and official bootlegs too! I decided to take a walk over to the music video section to see what's there today.

Nirvana Unplugged. Okay, that's very cool. Hmmm...Pa...Pearl Jam Touring Band 2000. Oh yeah, very cool, but I've got that...WTF? Live At The Garden??!! Not available at pearljam.com any more...The mother load!

Only $16, and it's the only one?

It will be mine...oh, yes...it will be mine!
    Posimists. Fuck the pessimists...fuck'em.
