I hate Buck Cherry. Crazy Bitch is up there with the new Kid Rock as the most horrible music being played. (BTW, I listen to the radio in the morning to wake me up, and the only station that comes in clear plays these songs every day.)

I liked the radio singles from their self titled album that came out in 99 -2000? "check your head" is the best song they have. Saw the video for "time bomb" and somehow I knew they were going to fall apart. In fact, they did break up due to declining record sales and fan base I think. I guess they got bored and decided to give it another go. Heard the song Crazy Bitch on the radio yesterday, and it's horrible. Just like time bomb. Oh well, I may not be a fan, but at least the band members don't have to work a shitty day job like me so more power to them I suppose. Also, on Rhapsody once, they used to have quotes about a band that would pop up in the corner when songs came on (they don't have it anymore). Anyhow according to that Buck Cherry singer Josh Todd was apparently one of the finalists selected to be front man for Velvet Revolver but we all know who got that job.

actually they broke up because there was a big fight within the band and 3 of them quit.

he was actually THE singer. And Keith Nelson (the other guy that didn't quit) was in the band too. They wrote an entire album with those guys. In fact if you look at the liner notes, Keith Nelson is actually given a writer's credit on Suckertrain Blues.

But in the end they decided to go with the big name instead and write new stuff.

Buckcherry's 3rd album, "15." The album is called "15" because that is how many days it was recorded in. Very original, I know.

This shit is real. This album kicks ass and just oozes sleazy rock and roll. If you remember "All Lit Up Again" from the first album, you know what you're getting here, which is a great thing IMO.

It's more straight ahead than the first album, and just as good, maybe even better. This is straight Hollywood sleaze, literally directly right out of LA. Think Black Crowes type vocals, GNR lyrics, and the Crue's to hell and back attitude. You will NOT want to play this around your mom. This is NOT music for the feint of heart, these are songs about running around LA being awesome instead of middle-aged crap like what's on riot act with its songs about "thumbing my way to some place" and taking 2 years off of touring to push around a baby stroller and go to bed early on Fri night b/c he has a pretty big Saturday planned at Home Depot. Rock and Roll.

It's 1047am and Buckcherry probably just went to bed half an hour ago. They probably don't support anyone for the election, because they don't know who's running. They're reckless, which I dig about them.

I wouldn't wanna hear it everyday, but it takes all kinds. If you have a day at work where your cube makes you feel like an animal in a cage, throw in "15" and let the first track play. Your wife or mother won't like the song at all, but you will.

If the band members live to see a 4th album, I look forward to seeing what they put out next.

Standout tracks: Next 2 You (love the "2" in the title!), Out of Line (a beer-thrower), Everything (straight out of 1989), Sorry, Crazy Bitch (a sa-weet tune!), Sunshine

not too keen on "Crazy Bitch".

Yeah they suck ass. Its such a deliberate attempt to be cool, trying to have the rock'n'roll swagger..but they just do it in such a generic prototypical way, its like the read the dummies guide to hard rock and started a band. "yeah let's get a bunch of tattoos and write a song called crazy bitch, throw the f word into some of our songs, and act like drunks who party all the time..its so cool and rebellious"...too bad the music sucks and has no originality.

There's a huge difference between generic shit like Buck Cherry and band's like QOTSA or Oasis who have attitude and are cool, not trying to be cool.

  • I enjoy their straight up rock. I like to sometimes not think about anything and just listen and enjoy!
"15" (the newest album) was recorded after their record label dropped them. They went out, made a cd, and went platinum. They put on a great live show and are incredibly happy to be back out. I'd recommend listening to "Carousel" before "Crazy Bitch."
Josh Todd was supposed to be the singer for Velvet Revolver...I'm not sure what happened, but I know the VR guys don't like him now.
And as for these guys trying to be cool...they lived the crazy drugged fueled LA life for so long, it gave them writing material. They're not trying, they did it. If you ever get to see Josh Todd close up, you can tell he spent too much time living hard.
rock bands may come and rock bands may go...

yeah. if you want to hear real sleeze rock (or real rock in general) listen to early New York Dolls. total drug guys. they were brilliant but sounded like a trainwreck. great stuff.
  • I have problems w/ any band that puts a song out like "Crazy Bitch" and then turns around and releases the most cheese infested power ballad since Hinder in that "Sorry" song. (I don't know the title, I just know it suck. Really. Really. Bad.)
