Tool - not a whole lot going on on stage.. but the video that they had playing for the lateralous tour was absolutely amazing. i was totally captivated the entire show.

NIN - tons of energy, amazing songs, raw emotion & dedicated fans.

When I saw Tool...they had these girls ( I assume I guess it could had been men, they were wearing these suits that you could not tell for sure) hanging from their feet dangling above the stage and they twirled for an entire song. And you all know how long Tool songs are. The videos at the show were incredible. Very comparable to NIN and their visuals. When I went to Woodstock 94, I really was a hippie, very limted exposure to the Alternative scene other than Blind Melon and Pearl Jam. I honestly felt I had to pick up my jaw from the ground after NIN got off the stage. It was by far the most incredible, most intense, most .....I just can not describe how I felt at that moment other than I will never miss another NIN show in my area since that time. I brought my husband in 2000 and he was blown away as well. Just top notch show never to be missed by anyone.

The Toadies put out a live cd a couple years back and I was at that show, that was like the 3rd or 4th time I saw them. They impressed me from the get go. Something like late '94-early '95, it was an $8 show, Toadies and Bush. yes I know...but it was like Bush's first American show but by far the Toadies blew them away. Small club maybe 250-350 people at most, I was right up front the whole time. Good times. Introduced myself to the band and said thanks for kicking my ass! Boston is a great place to be in or around. It seems like a warm up place for bands....hmmmm oh ya just like the VFC tour. I love living in New England!!!!!
Yeah, I got that album- it's called live from Paradise: Best of the Toadies live I believe. I think it's an alright album, but Todd's voice sounds like absolute shit on the recording. It sounds like he was really hoarse but that could just be the way the recorders picked it up. The Burden brothers are really great live too. Todd may even throw in a Toadies song or 2. Sometimes he does and sometimes they won't. They have their 2nd album coming out October 31rst 2006. I hope the Toadies will eventually do a full blown reunion tour, and maybe Todd could forgive Lisa and we could have the full line up from Hell below/stars above and on.
I saw Bush twice, and from what I gather the Toadies and Bush did not get along at all. They were constantly verbally bashing each other off stage the entire tour.

Yes, that is a good description of my feelings after seeing them for the first time this year, and the next day got tickets to see them again 6 days later because I absolutely had to. NIN's live show is     in a good way.

Besides PJ, who is the best. These were bands I would not miss for any reason when they come around.

    Sleater-Kinney
    Face To Face
    Rocket From The Crypt
    Hot Snakes
    Tool
    Radiohead
Rage Against The Machine (saw them at The Dragonfly in Santa Monica the day before Evil Empire came out. Unreal)
QOTSA (before they kicked out Nick and Mark)

    The Rolling Stones
    Pearl Jam
    Audioslave

My top 10 favorite shows are mostly Pearl Jam and Stones shows and one of both and Audioslave is definitely the best not out of those twos. There was so much energy, it was ridiculous. They played Killing in the Name Of, Rusty Cage, Slaves and Bulldozers, and of course all of the good Audioslave stuff. Cochise, Like a Stone, Be Yourself, Shadow on the Sun, Set It Off, and Spoonman. I really wanted them to play Hunger Strike, that would have been sick. But its definitely the best concert not Pearl Jam or the Rolling Stones...
    32 shows and counting...

The Who's 25th anniversary show in Birmingham, England --- '89??? Pete was first going through his Tenitis phase, and actually was playing acoustic throughout the first part of the concert. He angrily came out of his special little pre-constructed sound room and grabbed the guitar from the stage guitarist. Got a little too into it and actully lost part of his finger when doing a windmill. He shrugged and finished the song. Then he got it bandaged up and finished the concert. I was in the 5th row center...

I wasnt at this show, but I saw this tour at Giants Stadium in NJ, I guess this was the time Pete was freaking out about his hearing problem. To me it wasnt the Who at their best, for ex recent footage like the NYC 2001 benefit for 9.11 and the dvd from last year I think they are much better now than they were back in 89.

I can relate to Pete though cause I freaked out about hearing loss myself, to the point that I cut way back on concert going by middle 90s, now Im real careful, I always have earplugs in my pocket, I still want to be able to do this when Im 79, haha. Never got to see Nirvana, that is my one big regret.

Sonic Youth I saw them back in 1993, the famous July 4 gig in summerstage central park, the crowd was crazy, I think I had people coming over the top on average every 30 seconds. I was on the rail, and when MTV played clips of this show I could see myself in the middle of the mayhem. Now Sonic Youth gigs are so peaceful....

A lot of my picks have already shown up on everyone else's list...

    The Rolling Stones
Gloria Estefan - No, really. She had a lot of energy and it looked like her and her GREAT backup band were having a lot of fun.
    R.E.M.
    Prince
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
    Radiohead
Moby - His music made everyone bust a move, and he was running around the stage, playing guitar, bongos, singing, etc.
Veruca Salt - When they toured for Eight Arms to Hold You. I used to be so in love with this band before Nina left.

Edit: Dammit, I forgot all about PJ! They're one of the best as well!!

Besides PJ - for me it would be hands-down without a doubt The Black Crowes. I've seen them 13 times. A lot in common with PJ - you never get the same set list, you have no idea what they are going to play, they don't just stick to the hits and they can drag songs out forever.

Pre-Black Album Metallica was pretty good too.

the black crowes have so much variety during their- set I love it. I haven't heard every single song by them so sometimes I hear a song I never heard before (at all not just live) and I love it.
