And we're allowed to bring in SPF (one for body, one for face)?

Yes. You can bring sunscreen, but not the spray kind. There is a list in the FAQs of what you can and can't take in.

My wishlist is no rain and limited hot temps:) and yes I know once the sun goes down it does get chilly:)
What are the best ways to plan for the temperature change from day to night, when we're only allowed to bring in a tiny bag and a beach towel?!

Not sure if large locker will hold a poster or not....says they are only 15" deep at the link

    get it while they last
The posters don't fit well in the lockers. But for $10 you can store your poster in the locker area - like a coat check sort of.

Good recollection @GlowGirl ... That's what I did last year...kinda a shitshow at the end of the night to get your poster, but it was better than the poster tube cutdown that I had to do the previous year....

Am I the only one who doesn't think the temperature change is that drastic? Short/long sleeve shirt during the day, transition to a sweatshirt at night. Maybe bring a light jacket instead if rain is predicted.

You won't need a down jacket or snow pants.

But how else would we tell the locals from the tourists??

    :D

I'm a woman of ... experience. My biggest challenge at Ohana is staying warm; the temperatures aren't all that low, but the humidity/damp leaves me shivering.

So I end up wearing a lot of layers, using as much wool and as little lycra as possible. That means wool-blend knee-high compression socks, pants that aren't jeans, multiple tank tops and t-shirts, long-sleeve Smartwool shirts, big-ass down vest, gloves, etc. I usually end up wishing that I'd brought hand warmers. This year, I might bring my extra-warm down jacket --- not to tweak @njhaley1 but to try to stay warm.

Do I bring twice as much clothing as most people need? Yes. But I have crap circulation, a broken thermostat, and little insulation. I'll have more fun if my fingers aren't stiff and yellow from the cold.

If you find that you get cold easily, I do recommend lots of wool and layers. Otherwise, you might end up doing what I did in 2016 -- buying a giant wool poncho on site out of desperation.

I feel like my body has just not dealt with temperature changes very well in the past 5 years or so. The actual temperatures aren't the problem - it's the change. Like if I get out of bed at night and the house is at 66°, I feel absolutely frozen, body shaking with teeth chattering.

I was seeing lows of 55° for late September, with cold ocean air blowing in. That temperature feels like summer if it hits 55 in the middle of winter. But if it's been warm for a few days (or for 5 MONTHS, like it will in my area by September), I am acclimated to the heat and am freezing and walking around in my calf-length puffer coat if it drops to 50°.

However, I plan to be dancing and jumping a lot, and that will warm me up!

Big difference between Utah and Dana Point is the humidity; I lived in Utah for a while and found that the dry climate made it much easier for me to deal with cold temperatures.  If you're running cold living in Utah, I'd guess that you're going to find a damp and breezy 55 degrees to feel much worse than it sounds. Calf-length puffer coat might be a bit much, but a warm jacket, hat, gloves, hand warmers all are things I'd be considering.

Edit: Also, you're going to be out there for hours, so it's not like running from your car into Target or something. My attitude is, it's easier to shed layers than it is to get people around you to hand you their hoodies.

I felt that last year it wasn't so drastic. I got away with putting on a flannel shirt at night. But 2024 seemed colder at night. It was also freezing early in the morning for the line up. I had multiple layers on that I stored in my locker during the day, and put back on at night.

Good point - I didn't think about early morning temperatures

I reallly hope we get a Release opener...

and on the topic of guests/friends, I am very hopeful for any or all of the names mentioned above and I'm sure we will get some very cool surprises, but I remember all of the rumors leading up to the Spectrum shows in '09, none of it happening, and Ed saying "you've got me!" That said, I know this is a different thing entirely and EV & friends is happening, I'm just keeping a level head about it.
I would LOVE a Release opener. Of course they can't do that if they do all of Ten.

I'm going to be thrilled no matter what they play!

I didn't really think about it until I saw pictures of people on the beach in coats and hats!

This is great info! I would like to buy some merch, so it wouldn't hurt for it to be something warm! I don't want to rely on that though, in case it's not available.

You're totally right about the cold humidity - I never have to deal with that and don't really know how to!

Last year I went to the soundcheck on the beach on Thursday night. When I got out there in the afternoon it was hot. I had just brought a flannel shirt with me. By the time the sun went down I was freezing. And we were out there for several hours in the cold. I will be much more prepared for that this time with more layers.

I also intend to go to soundcheck and this is helpful. At least I can bring a bag for all the extra stuff on that evening.

Yes please. It's been many years since I heard Oceans at a show.

For those who were there 2024 or 2021: was merch available on Friday even for Sunday shows?
in other words, based on precedent, do you think PJ merch will be sold on Friday & Saturday even though they are playing Sunday?

In 2024 PJ played Friday and Sunday so their merch was available the whole time. Not sure how they will do it for just a Sunday show.
