This will be my first Ohana. Don't want to start a new thread. What hotel should I stay at, and should I rent a car or is ride share pretty easy in and out of the show? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

A car is extremely useful for getting around south Orange County. That said, unless you're planning to pay for premium parking (purchased in advance for $$$), most people with cars are parking at the shuttle lot and taking buses to the venue. I haven't tried rideshare getting to/from the site; we've done the buses and premium parking. Shuttle transport can be anything from quick and easy to a real cluster. -- Same with parking, really.

Hotel choice depends on your budget, your priorities, and availability. We've stayed at the Renaissance Club Sport in Aliso Viejo for several years, because it has an awesome gym and that's a big priority for us. We stayed at the Residence Inn one year -- within walking distance, which is great -- also on railroad tracks, which is not great. (It's also sold out and probably has been since last year).

Over the years we've stayed in a few different places.  Only you know your budget but Laguna Beach is quite a nice spot if you can find a reasonably priced hotel there - it will certainly be less expensive than anything really close to the festival...

We've always relied on Uber, which really isn't as bad as people make out - especially when you factor car rental prices and parking fees.  Getting to the festival is easy enough, afterwards is more challenging but isn't terrible with a little planning.  Either leave a few minutes before the show ends (not ideal obviously), hang around for demand to drop afterwards - there's some fast food spots nearby where you can wait it out, or in 2024 we pre-booked a ride from the rideshare collection and fixed the time for after the show ends, it was more expensive than standard rates but much less than the surge pricing.

Also worth noting that the rideshare collection point has moved further away over the years.  It used to be a short walk from the festival entrance, but now it's maybe 15-20 minutes away to reduce the traffic after the show.

Last time I went we stayed in Mission Viejo. Hampton Inn. No problem getting an Uber to the festival site. I have said this before, but go to the Rib Joint after the festival and wait an hour. No problem getting an Uber after about an hour. There is also an In-N-Out right near the hotel. And just my opinion, but go early, get a spot in front of the soundboard, eat, drink and use the bathrooms before the crowds show up. By 5pm it gets crowded. By 7 it is a shit show. I would not skip Saturday IMHO, one of the best parts of Ohana is seeing new bands!

Just got tickets for Friday and Sunday. First time at the festival.

Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.

So do the bands alternate stages all 3 days?  For instance, will Fontaines be on the tiki stage and PJ on Ohana Stage?

The Fontaines will likely be on the Ohana Stage before Pearl Jam. The bands in larger print are generally on the main stage.

Nice so with this format Stephen Wilson Jr. will be on Tiki too on Saturday? Want to get closer for him.

Last year Makua the 1st artist to perform on Friday was on the Ohana stage. Saturday 1st artist was on Tiki stage and Sunday 1st artist was on Ohana stage… tho based on Stephen Wilson slot sure appears to be Tiki!

Thanks pj bugs, forgot that caveat. Also last years announced line up and what we eventually got was a bit different, Girl and Girl dropped Mannequin Pussy replaced by Ed & Glen/Amanda Reckonwith.

    The initial line-up

    Eventual

Looking at it more closely. Appears that days with 11 artists, they start on Tiki. Days with 10, they start on Ohana??

Assuming that is the cadence, with the current announcement, each of the artists in the bottom right should start on Tiki.

    Having a conversation with myself.

Better way to analyze, is start at the top.

First two are Ohana, then tiki, ohana, tiki, ohana, etc...

Either way, I'll post up on Tiki each day, easier for my kids to be close to the action.

So am I wrong or is Sunday is sold out already?  Never seen a day sell out so quickly. Glad I resisted procrastinating for once!

My wish list would be to hear Release and Arc. Do you think there's any chance of Eddie doing Arc? Maybe it doesn't fit the vibe of Ohana.

Better odds for Release since Arc hasn’t been played since 2003. But they have pulled some surprises at Ohana.

Rideshare before the show is fine, but after the show it can be a hot mess. Everyone leaving at the same time means a lot of traffic and long waits for rideshare. I think we ended up calling a taxi company dispatch a couple years ago since I was hesitant to get in a random car just sitting around without knowing that they actually worked with a legit taxi company.

Zero chances for Arc. They even edited it out of the boots.
