Jets break 10 game losing skid. JFC. It's hard enough getting cheap winnipeggers to spend the money on going to these games, they are now in desperation mode. I got a call from their office asking if there was anything they could offer me to get me to buy tickets.
That’s really surprising. I thought they had good attendance.
it's a small barn (13,000+), and their business model seems to have been based on it being sold out every single game. And it was, for the first 5-7 years. Then it started to wane. It's still nearly full, but they need it to be full. I was considering going to the game Friday (where they finally won), and the amount of resellers on there was staggering. People dumping tickets left and right.

Bad/meaningless NHL hockey is a dreadful entertainment product in 2026.

And a lot of the regular season is bad/meaningless now, even for 'good' teams.

Usually two teams trying to tie to get a free point. Stupid bullshit. Again, Bettman is the devil.

Sabres/Lightning game is a bloodbath.  Biggest game in Buffalo in 15+ years

There's like a 3% chance I'm partying with the Rangers and Livvy Dunne tonight lol.

Drew Fortescue is making his Rangers debut tonight. He's a New York kid, finally something good to come out of Pearl River lol.

My aunt took care of him at her day care, and my cousin played high school hockey with him.

Dunne is part of the larger circle. She's from Jersey, and knows some of these kids too.

She's in town. She watched the Mets light up her bf yesterday lol.

And we're supposedly having drinks with some Rangers after the game tonight. We'll see.
May your days be long, til kingdom come.

Might be fun, despite potentially having to socialize with Rangers.

    Torts to Vegas 😳

I haven’t followed him closely but it seems he can coach a bit, sometimes makes me laugh and inevitably wears out his welcome. How many places has he coached, anyway?

I was surprised Vegas fired their coach. They were/are still in the playoff race.

Yeah makes no sense, but Vegas seems to have their own way. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Vegas is not good this season and in danger of missing out on the playoffs completely.  They have an impulsive owner.

I do think with a few exceptions, head coaches in the NHL are not a big deal and they are interchangeable.  Buttons to press to motivate players.

1 week until Playoffs! And who saw Patrick Roy getting fired for Pete DeBoer?

@MayDay10 congrats! It's about time playoff hockey is back in Buffalo. I flew up from Tampa for the 8-7 game against the Bolts at KeyBank last month. It was absolute insanity and felt like a playoff game.

The last 2 games in the Metro will be fun to watch. Philly's got Carolina and Montreal.

Huge games today/tonight. Caps already beat the Pens.

Hoping The Flyers make the last playoff spot.

Thanks.  Its nice to have our team back.  Pretty much didnt have an nhl franchise.  Something I once loved was ruined.  Couldn't watch the nhl, and wouldn't watch the sabres.  Im not frontrunner, I was a season ticket holder most of the drought, and was a bills season ticket holder almost that entire drought...  it was terrible.  Bad nhl hockey and an organization who seemed to have something against tough play and fighting was unbearably boring.  Their decisions showed they werent a serious organization.

Finally fired the lackey GM and hired someone with standards and experience.  Team took off like a rocket and all the crusty, disenfranchised fans like me are back.

Ill be at the playoff games

The fact that you stuck around as a season ticket holder through THAT drought deserves its own Stanley Cup ring honestly. It makes me wonder where the Sabres would be had they fired Adams years ago. And with Lindy back, it's a real Cinderella story.

Most fans bail after one bad season. Although Buffalo is built different. I'm a lifelong Bills fan and while getting $10 tickets was nice in the "dark ages", I'm thrilled the team is competitive. But they still break our hearts.

Respect. See you in the playoffs. I hope we get a Tampa/Buffalo series.

Pretty much. What a classic movie. Buffalonians have long fantasized about what a Superbowl and/or Stanley Cup parade would be like and I know I'd fly back into town for it. Every year we book a (refundable) spot in Buffalo to potentially watch and celebrate a Superbowl win.  That being said, for the NHL playoffs - go Lightning!
