    On its face, yeah who wouldn't.

    But also, its a bad look. You run the FBI man. The most you should probably be seen out is at dinner. You run a whole federal agency. have some sort of decorum.

    On a deeper dive, you just had the to-do about taking a federal private jet JUST to see your girlfriend perform the national anthem at a sporting event and then it coming out that you did it before for a dinner date.

    And going EVEN deeper, your head comms guy tweeted at a reporter calling him and his network a hack and saying that he wasn't in the locker room (NBC's Ken Delanian, its on Twitter) in spite of a video and then having more videos dropping. 

    also, he's partying like he scored the winning goal. just chill out, you didn't do shit dude. 

    So while in the grand scheme of things this is nothing and its just something to talk about. its still a bad look and unprofessional and another notch in how toxic this admin is.

    Judge Aileen Cannon bars the release of special counsel report on Trump’s handling of classified documents

    Special counsel Jack Smith’s final report on Donald Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified records and obstruction of justice at Mar-a-Lago after his first term will not be released, a Trump-appointed judge in Florida ruled Monday.

    The decision by US District Judge Aileen Cannon, who threw out the case Smith brought against the president before he was re-elected, is a major win in Trump’s efforts to keep the special counsel’s findings forever hidden from public view.

    Smith had turned over his final, two-volume report to then-Attorney General Merrick Garland before he left his post in early 2025. The first part of the report, which detailed Trump’s alleged efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, was released before Trump returned to the White House. But a legal fight waged by Trump and his co-defendants in the case kept the second part of that report under seal.

    Cannon said in her 15-page ruling that “it is certainly not customary” for a prosecutor whose case was thrown out to later be allowed to “publicly disseminate large swaths of discovery generated in the case.”

    “The Court strains to find a situation in which a former special counsel has released a report after initiating criminal charges that did not result in a finding of guilt, at least not in a situation like this one, where the defendants contested the charges from the outset and still proclaim their innocence,” she wrote.

    Cannon, who concluded in 2024 that Smith was unlawfully serving as special counsel, went on to chide him for even writing the report in the first place, saying it violated her earlier decisions putting an end to the work of his office on the classified documents matter.

    “The Court need not countenance this brazen stratagem or effectively perpetuate the Special Counsel’s breach of this Court’s own order,” she wrote.

    Cannon declined a request from two of Trump’s former co-defendants in the case to order the report to be destroyed.

    Trump’s personal attorney, Kendra Wharton, said in a statement that Cannon was right to “permanently prohibit the release of Volume II of Jack Smith’s illegal report,” adding that “all fruit of Smith’s poisonous tree should be treated accordingly and should never see the light of day.”

    Transparency around Smith’s final report on the South Florida federal case against Trump and two of his employees, called Volume II, is still being tested in appeals brought by public transparency groups.

    One of those groups, American Oversight, said Cannon’s latest ruling “continues a troubling pattern of decisions that shield the president from public scrutiny and place secrecy above the public’s right to know.”

    “American taxpayers funded this investigation, and they have a right to know what their government uncovered, particularly on matters of national security,” Chioma Chukwu, the group’s executive director, said in a statement.

You're allowed to act silly and have fun, but when you get to a certain level, would you ever have expected to see ANY government or justice department official acting like that? It's normal as a fan, but when you get to a certain level, you just don't partake. That's just part of the deal. It's like the president of my company acting like a dork at the christmas party. Not a good look. Brings down the status of the agency he's supposed to be leading.

    agreed. it is like watching one of the surgeons i call on acting like that. at some point you have to learn that you are not just a regular guy/fan and there is a duty to maintain a level of professionalism. most of them are concerned about their reputations though so i do not have to worry so much about them acting like that in public.

    the lack of self awareness in nearly every member of this administration is just staggering.

    i am surprised there is no "secretary of social media" cabinet position that is there solely to pump out this sort of content for noem, patel, and hegseth.

    also, i forgot to tell cincy in my reply that that post was not hate from me. it is honest criticism from a citizen. i can be critical of anybody without it being out of hate. though i do hate every one of those assholes.
