Never heard that Getright. Been my mantra t(sp) the past few days. Lived to eat last night,but that's ok too. Empowering/hard to pass up a morning bagel but let that be my hardest struggle.

Good for you Loujoe! That approach works for me. I eat fruit every morning, with at least four fruits and a single scrambled egg on the side. I sometimes have piece of toasted Dave's killer seed bread as it is low carb. Giving up the bagel with cream cheese, subs, pasta and pizza were the hardest aspects of adjusting my diet. I used to eat bagels 2-3 times a week. Now maybe once a month. I have also mostly eliminated coffee and switched to tea, but I still crave coffee 1-2 times per week. My Dr. actually said that coffee is good for me in moderation but that green tea is preferable.0 -

Ive lost 5lbs since I switched to coke zero. I was drinking 5 Big Gulps of regular coke a week.
So then I had to do the research.
Each big gulp of coke has 91 grams of sugar.

No data I could reference on that but soda has massive amounts of sugar. Aside from weight, daily consumption is horrible for a body.
(I love caffeine l, sugar, and cokes. Try to keep to limit but do enjoy when I drink them. Saturdays at lunch. Any time i have a burger, i want a coke or a cold beer.)

Soda is one of the worst things for your health. Even the diet/zero sugar ones. Same with snapple/nantucket nectar and other fruit drinks/iced teas. Even high quality orange juice or cranberry juice is loaded with sugar. I have switched to seltzer or tap water with a zero sugar electrolyte powder mixed in. At the moment I use Propel, which is gatorade's electrolyte powder. It is a challenge to stay hydrated as my Dr. recommended 100 oz of water each day. I have a 24 oz water bottle and I try to keep track of how much I drink, but it is a challenge to drink that much water.0 -
We both drink the propel. Great stuff
I do a lot of sugar free tea. Milos.
But I still do diet coke.
Also when we are doing are Disney Days, we drink a lot of Smart Water.

I am guilty of enjoying an ice cold coke once in a awhile, especially during the summer. I have a deli nearby that always has Mexican coke. Tough to beat on a hot day. Even in the morning with a bacon egg and cheese sandwich! That used to be a regular weekend meal with my kids. Not anymore. Now it is egg whites, mushrooms, onions and spinach on a whole wheat wrap with tea.
EDIT: And it is a good thing that hot sauce is not bad for you, because I love on my breakfast!Post edited by Get_Right on0 -

Looking good Loujoe! We eat a ton of lentils, mostly in soup.
Filet o fish is made with pollock. I do not believe I have ever had one. We have been known to keep Gorton's fillets in the freezer for quick fish tacos. It is ok, but definitely has that fish stick flavor. And imitation crab is awful and it does not even taste good. I do not know how people eat that stuff. If I want good crab, I know I have to pony up $$$.0 -
Thanks. Finally warm enough to cook outside. Lentils, sweet potatoes carrots, grilled onions ginger water. A little salt, cracked pepper. Could and maybe will add some broth to make it into a soup. Have some baby spinach and plan to eat chix with that.
Place I used to work added equal parts real crab meat and imitation to make crab cakes. They were good and I guess kept the cost down.0
