I do like going out to eat but there’s nothing I like better than making food at home way more satisfying for me at least! Made bread this morning

Going out to eat has become quite expensive, which is one of the reasons I have been cooking more. I agree about the satisfaction of homemade bread.  Nice work.

We never go out to eat. Maybe twice a year with visitors. I cannot remember the last time I was in an actual restaurant or ordered take out. I am lucky in that I have a wife and a daughter that pride themselves on home cooking.

Edit: That excludes the occasional Italian sub or everything bagels. I am addicted to jalapeno cream cheese.

Years ago I dated a girl from Buffalo, NY. She introduced me to Pizza Logs. Since they are unavailable here in Seattle, I made my own pepperoni pizza logs.

I agree! I tried a new pizza sauce recipe I saw in my reels yesterday. canned whole peeled tomatoes, salt, pepper, garlic, red pepper, anchovies, capers, and oregano, and then I blended it with the immersion blender. I thought it was good. My girlfriend raved about it.

Nice never heard of using anchovies & capers in tomato sauce! I just made Caesar’s dressing yesterday using anchovies

Anchovies are a key ingredient to many Italian dishes. They are also very good for you. Even the $3 tins. I like to get a Cento Caponata and Anchovies with a loaf of bread or even ritz crackers. Simple things. $8 snack for two days. Add do not waste the oil. You can make a simple pasta dish with it (even though I do not eat any pasta, the kids do).

EDIT: We also use a ton of dried anchovies to make dashi, the base for about 85% of our meals.

You add them with Katsuobushi, or as a substitute?

     Sometimes both, sometimes alone.

Last minute I grabbed a pizza too. Not sure what to eat for a couple days snowed in. No creativity here now.
