No penalty for the Miami defender going helmet to helmet on Mendoza there on that field goal drive. I think there should have been a personal foul of some sorts.

What a touchdown run from Mendoza on 4th and 7 for the touchdown.

Whew! That false start by IU before they settled for a FG could have imploded everything.

I was really hoping the Canes would pull off the upset!

That final drive and terrible interception to end it was just a bad way to end the game.

    Congrats IU.

It was nice to see Miami in a Championship game again.  It's been a long time.  Been a Canes fan since the mid 80's.

Yea don’t expect a 6 year veteran to make such a bad pass.

Indiana winning a national title in football is one of the craziest results in sports history.  Just a terrible program throughout my life and boom playoff team last year and a national title thus year.  Just wild

I think we are at the point where big-time college sports have crossed the lexicon from amateur athletics to a professional league.  Players who are not skilled enough to make The Show can make a career being a hedge knight offering their services to the highest bidder.  Some dude is playing for his 7th school in 7 years.  A good college QB can make $5M right now.  And the arms race is just starting.  Big time donors will look at IU just did … most people in the state of Indiana were only remotely aware IU had a football program until last year … and start throwing money at their crappy programs.

You almost need two teams for power conferences schools, the amateur team and the professional team that represents the university.

The certain thing is there is no easy fix and money will point the direction.

Yeah USC, UCLA and Iowa were pretty much the only schools I can remember that had a good basketball and Football team.  Other schools either had a good basketball team or football, never both.

This IL money, I'm guessing that is why Indiana and Miami for that matter, rose to BCS prominence?

And not recalling the USC hoops dynasty (on the men's side at least).
