Okay, haven’t seen this since the theater probably. Man, Kincaid’s dog did him dirty. Twice! Comes into his dreams twice and is beyond not helpful. Not sure I’m clear on how Freddy comes back.

Freddy’s death scene has some nice effects. So does the body building bug.
To quote Black Phone 2 (which is kind of a spiritual Elm Street sequel in itself), Dead is just a word.
Yeah, I get that. As Freddy says, he is eternal. But fiery dog pee to open the grave is a little funny. 😄
Totally. I was being sarcastic in my response, and I wasn't clear on how he came back either. If it wasn't pee then what was it? Was he resurrected by Kristen's worrying/fear?

Very little substance, driven by the empty main character and luck or bad luck in a silly card game. Farrell’s player is sick and sucks without any plus. Even the genre add-on isn‘t a winner and all or nothing can be ruined with the final minute.
Favorite bit was the end credits music.

😃 Maybe it was fear of Freddy? That’s the best explanation I’ve heard!

Or they just thought it would be cool for a dog to pee hellfire!

Always seen it, as him slowly creeping back into their minds and with enough thoughts of him, he manifests again.

But I think Renny Harlin meant it to be literary fire-piss (I think he has said it was his idea).

Seeing this so many times via the swedish VHS, and there the cockroach scene was cut. So to me, buying the US DVD set in like 2001 that scene was a surprise and something completely new. Which was fun.

The swedish cut version, ended with Freddy pushing down the wight-bar and the girls arms break. I kind of think the bug-scene is... unnecessary. Would have rather had a visceral/grounded shot or two more in the gym. Like her trying to escape, but can't lift her arms and Freddy coming behind with the claws.

I don't need the fantastical/funloving gimmicky. I want the dreams as "our world but with a surreal twist". Like e.g. Tina being dragged across the ceiling in part 1.
