It’s a masterpiece of a record. I will always be thankful for seeing this tour. I really liked the record at the time, but was not old enough to really appreciate the depth of the songs and the sadness as he headed both for divorce and a bad heroin addiction. The older I get, the more I connect with the record.0

And if I died with a $124 to my name, I'd be pissed I didn't get it.0 -
Yeah, I'm also a huge Petty fan. And obviously "Wildflowers" is an incredibly wonderful album.
But this latest money grab by the Petty daughters is one too many for me.
I think the price has certainly got to drop to something more reasonable eventually.
The initial pressing (ooh - with a "machine numbered cover"!) is 6,000 and if it sells out, they'll press more.
By comparison, the always wildly popular "Buckingham Nicks" LP, recently released by the Rhino High Fidelity label (AAA Cut From The Original Stereo Master Tapes By Kevin Gray and Pressed On 180-Gram Heavyweight Vinyl at Optimal with a Heavyweight Glossy Gatefold Jacket), was only $39.98.
When the initial "numbered cover edition" of 5,000 sold out, they offered tons more un-numbered ones.
And when those eventually sold out, they re-offered it again as a pre-order, due later this Fall.
If folks have money to burn before they die, there are always plenty of worthy causes you can donate to.
And that feels really good, too.0 -
