Even that would be useless if those that move don’t realize the reasons that caused them to move were created by politicians, or blame politicians for reasons beyond their control. Either of which are probably common scenarios.HughFreakingDillon said:but the only significant data in terms of election results from said migration is, of those that moved, which way they vote after said move.As if people leave HCOL blue states but can’t figure out why things and homes are so expensive. And those seven million people moving away to LCOL areas are going to flip southern red states blue (been waiting sixty years for that). And pretend that it’s not an aggregate phenomenon is not caused by political philosophy in expensive blue regions. Just wait for Mamdani to explode nyc taxes and watch what happens. The level of dem denialism is something else.
the details: TX and FL expected to add 2-4 house seats/electoral votes and a handful of others gaining one. Where exactly are Dems picking up any of those seats?

I'm not familiar with MO, but government should never go against what the people voted for.
Gerrymandering isn't new and has been used by both sides for as long as I;m aware of. It's a dumb practice that should not be allowed, but it is.Post edited by mace1229 on0 -

the FDA has no business making a proven vaccine more difficult to get. if we want it, we should be able to get it. i am a surgical rep, i am required to have it to enter hospitals. how can i work if dipshit bobby kennedy makes it hard for people like me to get?
trump did operation warp speed, which was his only success in the first term, and they are running away from it because their maga followers are stupid and angry. we should be able to get any vaccine that is available that we want to get. it should not be made more difficult. this is public health we are talking about.
i agree that gerrymandering is stupid, but here we are, everyone is going to blatantly do it now.

I haven't followed the vax closely, are they not making exceptions for health care workers or those that require it for work? Will they still require it? But my point of that was it's not a state thing, it s a fed thing I believe.gimmesometruth27 said:

there are a group of northeastern blue states banding together to make sure their people can get it. because it is a federal issue and the federal government is screwing us.mace1229 said:

Sure, except the problem is a net migration out from blue regions and for political purposes this leads directly to less power in congress and electoral college.
” The idea that population shifts from states with Democratic-led governments to those with Republican-led governments are primarily due to failed economic policies for younger people is a prominent assertion, but the reality is more complex. While economic factors play a significant role, they are not the only drivers of migration.Several factors contribute to migration patterns in the United States, and it's difficult to isolate a single cause:* Economic Factors: This is a major driver of migration. People, especially younger people, often move in search of better job opportunities, higher wages, and a lower cost of living. States with more robust job markets, lower taxes, and more affordable housing tend to attract new residents. This is often cited as a reason for people leaving high-cost Democratic-led states like California and New York for states like Texas and Florida.* Cost of Living: High housing costs and general cost of living are a significant "push" factor for people leaving certain states. This is especially true for younger people who are looking to buy their first home or start a family.* Political and Social Alignment: While economic reasons are often at the forefront, there is evidence that people are also moving to states that align with their political views. Some studies suggest a "Republican exodus" from states like California, with those leaving being more likely to be Republican. Conversely, new arrivals to these states are often more Democratic.* Remote Work: The rise of remote work has given people more flexibility to live where they choose, no longer tethered to a specific office location. This allows them to move to areas with a lower cost of living or a different lifestyle, which may be in states with different political leanings.* Quality of Life and Lifestyle: Other factors such as a desire for a different lifestyle, better schools, or less population density also influence migration decisions. In conclusion, while the assertion that failed economic policies are a key driver of population decline in some states is strong, it's an oversimplification. The movement of people is a multifaceted issue influenced by a combination of economic, political, and personal factors.”0 -
