    Yea the whole “my state is better” is dumb. People move for all sorts of reasons. “Moving from blue to red” is such a dumb “political” argument and it’s just as dumb automatically shitting on red states like Mississippi or Florida. People have all different types of lifestyles and needs, thankfully states vary significantly across the US. Some people love Alaska, others Florida. Some prefer cities, others prefer rural, along with a many, many other factors.

    i'd move from red to blue to be honest. my legislators constantly vote to overturn shit that we voted for and passed. what is the point of having elections if the gop will just override our decision?

    Anecdotally you are correct but on the aggregate there is a large trend of people moving from D to R states. It’s projected the next census 2030  the democratic states could lose ten house seats/electoral votes to R states in the south. Part of the reason is the rent is just too damn high in democratic areas.

    That would be catastrophic. You’re suggesting the deaths of nearly eight million young people, possibly many more if there is collateral damage or related fatalities of those that did not move.

    Florida and Texas have had significant migration of northerners for decades, and are still solidly republican. Florida for one is more out of reach for Dems now.

    Well. Aging population, decreased access to healthcare, internet brain rot, climate change in exposed to catastrophic weather states. You never know!

    Even that would be useless if those that move don’t realize the reasons that caused them to move were created by politicians, or blame politicians for reasons beyond their control. Either of which are probably common scenarios.
