My point is that the perception is that secret service protection was taken away due to sexism and racism when it is, what, longer than a month than it is for others?

Now, if he was able to and took protection away prior to six months, than that's petty.

On Friday August 29, 2025, the Court of Appeals for The Federal Circuit upheld a lower court's decision that Trump Tariffs imposed Under the Emergency Powers Act exceeded the President's authority and were illegal (short version of the decision). Trump's final remedy will be an appeal to the Supreme Court. Which is expected. It is likely the Supreme Court will accept the appeal but it remains to be seen how quickly they will issue their opinion. The lower courts issued their decisions in record time. What normally takes years, both lower court decisions were issued in less than a year.

No, not at all.

People should be upset and concerned when he doesn't follow the laws/rules.

I'm pointing out this instance of following a rule, ending secret service detail on 9/1/25 when the rule calls for it to end a little over a month earlier, making people upset.

And you're right. the norm is 6 months. But thats not what she had. She had 18 months. So why take it away? Because thats the way its always been done and an extra year was a big no-no? Why would she need an extra year?

Like its fine to call out when people could be being extra sensitive about racism and sexism, but theres nothing wrong with running it through those filters when 1. racism and sexism are still pretty prominent and 2. this admin is hell bent and burying their head in the sand thinking neither exist in 2025 and while making decisions that perpetuate those behaviors.

They probably cancelled it a month after the normal 6 months because she has a book coming out and shes gonna shit talk Trump, the election and current state of the country and Trump and the people in his admin are lifetime bitches.It was most likely a petty decision of retribution, just like he did for others with government funded security details. They could have said, 'no we aren't gonna give you the extra year, just the normal 6 months' at any point before.

So we are to believe, at best, who ever is tasked with this is a fucking moron and didn't look into it or know about this until a month too late ("hey I wonder why Dave and Steve didn't comeback from the Harris detail last month like they were supposed to...THEY WHAAAAAA!!!). At worst its petty vindictiveness. And yes at the end of the day this is a non real story that distracts us from *fucking literally everything else thats bad*, but its certainly another footnote of how small and petty this Admin is. And certainly worth pointing out in case someone is making a list of this stuff.

Mike Pence's Secret Service protection ended after the standard six-month period following his term as Vice President. It was not extended beyond that time.
