Right. Biden and the Dems who stole democracy. I'm ready to blame.Halifax2TheMax said:When the collapse happens, remember who and which party was responsible. trump cancels Harris' secret service detail....I hope the next Dem in power remembers this. trump seems to feel strongly that anyone who he thinks can afford their own detail should pay for it.

I'm an MMA fan. But I find this devalues the grounds of the White House immensely. I don't think White House grounds are appropriate for any type of sporting event.

such a petty man. if i am ever elected president on day one i cancel his, and his entire administration's secret service protection. he is allegedly a billionaire that has bilked us for billions, he can pay for his own security.Gern Blansten said:trump cancels Harris' secret service detail....I hope the next Dem in power remembers this. trump seems to feel strongly that anyone who he thinks can afford their own detail should pay for it.

Former presidents receive Secret Service protection for life. Harris, as a former vice president, received six months of protection after leaving office, according to federal law. That period ended on July 21. However, her protection had been extended for an additional year via a directive – not made public until now – signed by then-President Joe Biden shortly before leaving office, according to multiple people familiar with the undisclosed arrangement.mickeyrat said:Trump ends security protection for former Vice President Harris, senior White House official says - https://www.reuters.com/legal/government/trump-ends-security-protection-former-vice-president-harris-senior-white-house-2025-08-29/

Yep, that's standard practice. Kammie's book tour begins Sept. 24, so maybe Simon & Schuster can pick up the tab for security. After all, they do need to protect their reported $20 million investment.Indifference said:

i guess it is easier to drop an octagon somewhere on the white house grounds than it is to build a 1 mile nascar track, which is what maga really wants for the 250th anniversary."You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln

I mean, he did though. She's supposed to have another year.
And I can understand why they would give a liberal, female, black, VP who ran against Trump an extra year of protection.0 -
He did.
The other headline is misleading. Lots of people, including myself, are learning today that secret service protection for former VP's is six months after they leave that office.

Plus, in reality, the statement "...signed by then-President Joe Biden shortly before leaving office" is highly suspect. We now know that Joe wasn't actually signing anything himself at that point in time.0 -
Six months is the standard.
Let's see how we can make this about sexism and racism.
