Since when has, “as goes NYC, so goes the nation?” Never.

What are you prattling on about? The NYC mayoral election has absolutely nothing, nothing, to do with the nationwide POTUS election. Quit clutching your pearls but remember, it’s too late.

To further clarify they just came after the suburbs and the outer boro's for the congestion tax. I think it's not a terrible idea but it is asking people outside the city center to fund the city transit

another way they do this is they charge extremely higher rates per mile for public transportation the further you live from the city. And completely out of scale. If you were to calculate the cost per mile to take public transportation in the metropolitan area, people living outside the city pay three to four to five times higher per mile.

We already subsidize the city plenty, and someone like mandami is going to do politics that just doesn't sell to the Country; and the Republicans are going  say  socialism doesn't work, white Democrats make this the hopeful direction of the party. It's like no one is paying attention to how elections work, even in 2020 when a moderate won
With driving being heavily subsidized nearly everywhere else in the country, it’s nice to see the reverse happen.
So you pay our taxes. Thanks pal!

Exactly how not to run an executive branch.

And that’s just the three week period after the debate. According to a few, Woodward being one, it was going on for a year.

good thing Biden watches morning Joe every day, just like me…

Mr. Biden’s aides never had him meet with his campaign’s pollsters. Instead, they often presented overly optimistic outlooks of the political landscape, alarming members of the campaign staff, who looked for ways to bypass his longtime advisers Steve Ricchetti and Mike Donilon

Mr. Biden was aware of the concern among Democrats — it was impossible to ignore — but his aides continued to provide him with a warped version of reality.

Mr. Biden had a team of campaign pollsters who were prepared to tell him the truth about the numbers, but they never got the opportunity. They were told they should present to his closest advisers — not to the president himself.

If Mr. Biden knew about the tanking polls, he did not let on.

When former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Democrat of California, met privately with Mr. Biden in the White House for a crisis meeting that July, she grew frustrated by his insistence that the polling showed no real change since the debate. Was he not seeing the numbers she was seeing?

At one point, Mr. Biden asked an aide to put Mr. Donilon on the phone because the president did not believe Ms. Pelosi. She was adamant the polls showed Mr. Biden would lose to Mr. Trump.

So they went to two people they knew could get Mr. Biden’s attention: the hosts of “Morning Joe” on MSNBC, which the president watched every morning.

It’s fucking over Democrats fucked up ok you fucking win here’s your 🏅🏅🎖️

You are allowed to post seventeen thousand comments about the horrible living conditions, something BOTH parties have responsibility for…

but expecting dems/Ocasiocrats, to be honest about the leaders health and mental capacity, and allowing people to vote for the nomination, having an actual democracy, which was their fucking argument against trump , that gets three fucks in eight words from you lol.

the bias here is intense and astounding
"ocasiocrats" is the tell here in your post.

    Your bias is astounding

in case u don’t understand, consider one poster here, Hal, allowed to make a million jokes.

    If not two million

But when a centrist does it, must have some other meaning than the words typed. She is the proclaimed leader of the far left. The joke is, she has no path in the current political climate. Yet she keeps going  farther left

you are maga left. Say hi to them.
at least get her last name correct. your term is disrespectful and petty.

lol if i am maga left, you are maga centrist then. militantly clinging to positions that have no constituency.  hope you like treading water in a place where there are policies literally nobody wants.

It's putting together her name and the party she wants to control

That's a ton of respect. Do you ever take one second and attack the jokes or parody that Hal puts on this forum?

No you never do because your bias is astounding
she has a hyphenated name. most women find it disrespectful when you don't use the whole thing when referring to them.

i don't attack his jokes because he usually attacks people in power or republicans, and that is funny. punching on people that support what ocasio-cortez supports is not funny. its pathetic.

The bold did is exactly why Democrats lose elections. Talk about freaking hypocrisy

Talk about respect--- you're allowed to call a congresswoman, by her first name but it's not even her name, Marge, with zero pushback, maybe you're the one who called her an ape, I'm not looking, but it's offesive to use one CORRECT  part of a name for expediency purposes , lo and behold all hell should break loose

It's funny when we do it but disrespectful when the other side does it...
And I'm not even a republican LOL.

Exactly why the clutching pearl democrats lose elections when they should win

Part of the federal taxes I pay goes to the federal interstate system that I rarely use. And at the state level, most everywhere, gas tax and registration fees covers about 50-60% of road building and maintenance, so the rest of the money comes from non-usage based taxes.

Lerx you love to espouse that the Left is to blame for everything and then proceed to champion the meaty middle. Other than someone else's op ed in the WSJ acknowledging that Mamdani correctly appealed to the economic anxiety and then said it was the wrong approach and that tax relief is the way forward, you haven't really posted what dems SHOULD do to win back the moderates. Where, in your opinion (not AI generated), do you think Dems need to position themselves to win back the middle?

I've said it often, the strategy, They need to look at why they are losing States completely to get the senate back and have a chance at one more liberal seat on the court

States that were in their grasp 10 or so years ago. Let's start with Iowa Ohio and florida. Losing those three states for good plus the estimated 10 electoral votes and congressional seats
...that are moving away from Blue States over to Red States in 5 years, they have their work cut out for them.

I'd start with that AI generated content that I posted this morning and then I would start searching AI for each bullet point and detailed focus groups similar to the one I posted on here a few weeks ago. By state

Id figure out why we are losing a class of centrist Voters in the midwest.in the south.. in blue states. We're turning off these voters across the country.

Just look at my exchange with that commenter, theyre literally bragging about a special set of rules for people like them but anyone who disagrees look out. Two Centrists get called racists here for ridiculous reasons this week, and textbook bigotry is ok from the left. The mods let all that go , which is fine with me until  they start selectively enforcing rules in one favor A week later

This is exactly what voters are telling focus groups and pollsters is wrong with Democrats.

We're turning them off in Upstate New York, exurban PA,, in Miami  , in Iowa. And on and on. It's their job to figure out why. Somehow I don't think AOC mandani wing has the solution because they don't even understand the problem. Their too busy emulating trumps bigotry

We're talking about additional taxes and high taxes that are  paid only in the Big Blue States. The problem is we are losing 10 electoral votes to the Republicans for a reason the next census. As good an idea I think congestion pricing is, things like this drive people to the republicans, no pun intended

We’re talking about how transportation infrastructure is paid for. The money doesn’t fall from the sky in red states, but my guess is more republicans hold the false belief that roads are fully covered by gas tax and vehicle fees.

Since when has, “as goes NYC, so goes the nation?” Never.

What are you prattling on about? The NYC mayoral election has absolutely nothing, nothing, to do with the nationwide POTUS election. Quit clutching your pearls but remember, it’s too late.

Are you pretending not to understand basic comments? We're talking about a movement seeking control of the democratic party. Go back to sleep now with those stupid jokes
That’s not Ocasiocratic or the dem mayoral candidate for NYC. Talk about being asleep. Or deluded.

I heard that ocasiocratic really runs the dem party from an office connected underground to the DNC headquarters at 430 South Capitol Street, SE. Her office that connects underground is located at 5037 Connecticut Avenue, NW. I heard she can even ride a bike between the two.

We have Abigail Spanberger with a 12 point lead on her Republican opponent for governor.  Do you think a debate about rent freezes and city grocery stores has any resonance on our election?  No.  Not in the least.  NY local politics is NY local politics.  Your attempt to nationalize the issue isn't affecting our election.

That was a headline in Fox News. They love to use AOC as a wedge, and mamdani will be next if he wins. I don’t think a moderate VA gov will be used to turn off moderates from voting for a democrat in senate or potus elections.  There was a lot of enthusiasm from the far left when he beat cuomo, that he is the new path for Dems.

I didn’t know the Dems needed to ship mamdani to dc to drum up support amongst congress. Evidently there is concern amongst the party center. The goal is to win the senate and presidency to get another liberal justice. Rs are terrific at showing how local extremist politicians translate to fear in national elections. Trump has made so many local issues here in ny national, such as congestion pricing and all the renewable energy projects. These are all things previously approved  y the feds but trump is creating turmoil and rallying hate against the Dems.

    Interesting polling on 2024.

Summary: those who stayed home in 2024 didn’t like either candidate and prefer progressive policies.

I've always liked former UK prime minister Margaret Thatcher's quote, cited in this article:

"‘The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money".
Yes, only leftist elites take advantage of generational/family wealth. No current republican has done this and especially not Trump.
    It's a hopeless situation...
