They’re not practicing? What are you talking about? Every opinion doesn’t need to be shared in some cases guy.Gern Blansten said:I think it's more likely (as others have previously mentioned) that it was a "let's finish this tour and then give us your decision" type of thing.
Clearly there have been changes the last few years. Josh adding vocals, shorter set lists, short tours, less variety in the setlists (which means they aren't practicing)...my guess is that Matt just wants more family time and he doesn't like getting uprooted for albums, practice, tours, etc.0 -
I really hope Matt just wants more family time or semi retirement, if that's the case then maybe we see him for a song or two in the futurePost edited by BlueLedbetter on0

josevolution said:The only complaint I have about how this went down is, they should have in my honest opinion let the fans know that the 2025 spring shows would be his last! I bet some folks would have done anything to have seen him one last time! After the MSG show in September I thought ok I’ll get another shot at seeing them again.
That last statement has caused me some pretty big regrets over the years, so I no longer take anything for granted.

I don't think they do (together that is)...it requires travel, they don't all live in the same city you know?THEBIBLEISTEN said:

I think sound checks are the only time they work out the rare songs they play.Remember the Thomas Nine !! (10/02/2018)

I would be very surprised if they don't schedule some time in advance of a tour to get together & practice.Gern Blansten said:

Pittsburgh was already the hardest ticket many of us ever encountered. Can't imagine what it would have been like if we knew it was Matt's last shows.josevolution said:The only complaint I have about how this went down is, they should have in my honest opinion let the fans know that the 2025 spring shows would be his last! I assume this is how he wanted it. And, without an announcement, there was always a chance they could change his mind without it ever becoming a story.___________________________________________

It's called tour rehearsal, and every band does it before hitting the road.Merkin Baller said:

That cuts both ways, it really would have driven prices up and prevented fans from several markets they haven't been to in a long time from attending. Matt also may not have wanted to be the focal point.josevolution said:The only complaint I have about how this went down is, they should have in my honest opinion let the fans know that the 2025 spring shows would be his last! Also possible that he might have indicated to the band that it was a strong possibility that it was his swan song but had not been 100% committed to the separation, until after the tour ended.
I have no complaints how they handled it, though in retrospect also wish I had added more shows than Hollywood to my itinerary. I considered adding Atlanta or Raleigh, but just stuck with the tour opener. Had a blast.0 -
I think we have a winner for the Visual Matt Cameron Tribute Contest.Pap said:Thank you so much for being the glue of this band when they most needed it, MFC! Thank you for being the engine of this plane for 27 consecutive years! Take it easy, and enjoy your time with your loved ones! Even if you're feeling that you don't have much to say these days, we'll always cherish your musics (Skin Yard, Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Pearl Jam, Harrybu McCage, Hater, Tone Dogs, Matt Cameron, 3rd Secret, Ten Commandos, Wellwater Conspiracy, Drumgasm, Nighttime Boogie Association)

Dude, stop assuming. I dont think a band goes to Wrigley or MSG and doesn’t practice. Just a foolish comment imo.Gern Blansten said:

Congratulations and Godspeed to you, Matt.
Thank you for all that you have created for all of us to celebrate.
You have left an indelible mark on the art and my life for which I am truly grateful.
Enjoy your long overdue second enshrinement into the Hall of Fame.......and your next chapters in your life.
We will always remember, Mr. MFC.
Bless you sir.

I was fortunate enough to go to both nights in Hollywood, so 18.2% of the 2025 Spring Tour.bootlegger10 said:

I also saw both Vancouver shows, so that was kind of cool to see multiple North America Tour Openers for Dark Matter. That equates to 8.3% of the entire Dark Matter run, 2024-2025. I'm good with that.0 -
how many shows was the tour total?Wilco87 said:

48 I think from manually counting on the Tour History page. Subject to manual Error. London and Berlin (X2) were cancelled, so it would have been 51.0 -

There's enough chaos around procuring tickets and merch as it is... I can't even imagine what a mess it would have been had they announced this was the last tour w/ MC.
& not for nothing, a farewell tour wouldn't be their style, especially Cameron's.
Totally great points! I too understand and know exactly how this band does things with that being said I guess we can expect no farewell tour from the band when ever that happens or if it has already happened!bootlegger10 said:By not announcing before the last run, it just goes to show you his character and that he isn't seeking the limelight.
I will forever lament not being selected for tickets to those shows.0 -

Thank you for everything Matt, drummer of Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Pearl Jam, and of course, KISS. It's been an honor to listen to all your music and see you live 20 times.
I'll echo others that Pearl Jam may not have always been the best palate for Matt's art, but I believe that Dark Matter was the Pearl Jam/Matt Cameron masterpiece. And oh what an honor to see every song from the album played in the 7 DM Tour shows that I saw! If you're gonna go out, you might as well go out on top. And MFC sure as fuck all went out on top!
As for Pearl Jam, we have to have some expectations that this band is going to change as the gents get older. I don't know who will become the new drummer (there is no "replacing" Matt Cameron folks). Maybe it will take 2 people to do it. I would expect someone younger to come in and perform these incredible hours long athletic feats.Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25
