I highly doubt this is "the end." If it was EV for sure, any of the others probably. I would love to see them bury the hatchet and bring back Abbruzzese!

Well, he is 62.  Drumming takes a lot of energy.  He is most likely financially secure.  Now he is onto the most important phase of life ... morning crossword puzzles and senior discounts at the Waffle House.

  • Zero question the band continues because why would they go to the trouble to announce this and not the end of the band? I agree with whoever said this was probably in the works for a while. It’s sad for sure as I feel his imprint on the band is irreplaceable, but I am excited to see what direction they go in at the same time.

I'm in shock. A huge thank you to Matt for these 27 years of rock.
The reason isn't mentioned. That's what's bothering me.

I remember thinking the champagne was odd but I have never been to an "end of the tour" show so I wasn't sure if they always did that?

    Thanks for everything Matt!!!

Jack Irons is only turning 63 next week and the band is not touring as much as it did so…

Eddie once said that if anything ever happened to Matt, Jack would be the first call.

However, that first call was to Dave Krusen a few years ago, right?

We gotta wonder if the announcement about the hiatus in Pittsburgh was related, right?

No, The champagne was odd. I thought that at the time. But that video with all the hugs with Matt - I didn't notice that at the time. I am grateful to have been there for his last show with the band.

Oh man, never saw that coming.  I hope it's just Matt wanting to retire and nothing serious.  I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Thank you Matt Cameron, you rock big-time!
