12 million is still a huge number, and the point still stands. Are you going to target the source of the 11 million or the source of a few hundred thousand?
Roughly 40% of the people who are here illegally overstayed their visas as compared to crossing the border illegally, but go off about the source of your 11 million.
Europe makes up less than 4% of illegal immigration.
    https://www.migrationpolicy.org/data/unauthorized-immigrant-population/state/US

And the question was why don’t we target European immigrants. I agree that the answer is obvious.
So, based on this screenshot right here, how do you come up with "11 million [vs] a few hundred thousand"?

Because that was a rough guess that wasn’t far off. So it’s closer to 9 million that are from south of the border, instead of 11 (and that’s using the low total estimates, some are much higher) compared to a few hundred thousand from Europe. Doesn’t really change much does it? If you’re going to reduce illegal immigration are you going to focus on the 9 million or the 400,000?
What happened to the 20 million he campaigned on?
    I never claimed 20.
Although I’m not convinced it’s only 12 either. It’s probably somewhere between 12-20 and I doubt anyone knows with any level of certainty.

Come on. We're not seriously entertaining the idea that European immigrants aren't also a problem, but we also don't know the reason why the right doesn't mention them?

let me give you a hint:

    IT AIN'T ABOUT NUMBERS
It is though. There’s 20 times the number coming from the south as compared to Europe.
If Canadians were coming in by the same numbers they’d be getting deported too. If illegals immigration from the south matched that of Europe, it would t even be a talking point. But roughly 10 million, with estimates of over 5 million every year, , yeah that poses an issue with immigration.

In the issue of fairness and equality under the law, shouldn’t 4% of snatched and deported be white, of European/canadian descent?

I think that’s been the case before. I don’t think any numbers are out for the previous few months.

Well, if certain posters want to argue that the reason it’s only the “other” being snatched off the street and deported is because the largest majority of “other” comes from south of the border and dismiss or excuse the 4% or 440,000 white illegals, then they should be able to point to the snatched and deported and say at least 4% of them are of European/canadian origin, meaning mostly white, and say equality under the law matters. Or, they can say or claim that 4% or 440,000 other “others” are really not that important or a threat. Better yet, prove me wrong by posting videos or reporting on the other “other” being snatched off the street in places like Brighton Beach, Sunny Isle Beach, Southie, Polonia Triangle, or Houston/Dallas.

COOTWH wants a million a year in deportations. 4% of 1M is 40,000, so shouldn’t we see 10% of the other “other” be deported? Just think of the savings to social security, Medicare and Medicaid, or healthcare and school systems and unemployment benefits. It’d be yuuuuuuuuuge.

I look forward to the videos of the other “other” being snatched off the street and deported to Sudan or El Salvador. So everyone can sleep better at night.

I don’t find data specifically on deportations by country or region, but found pretty easily “removals” broken down.
Here’s how the government defines the two:
    1. Removals are the compulsory and confirmed movement of an inadmissible or deportable alien out of the United States based on an order of removal. An alien who is removed has administrative or criminal consequences placed on subsequent reentry owing to the fact of the removal. ↩ Back
    2. Returns are the confirmed movement of an inadmissible or deportable alien out of the United States not based on an order of removal.
To be honest, I’m still not entirely sure of the difference, seems like maybe one is court ordered and the other isn’t?

In 2019 17,852 Europeans were returned and 66,575 North Americans returned.
This is higher than 4% of the total for that year.
    https://ohss.dhs.gov/topics/immigration/yearbook/2019/table40

It would also be odd, if it is just about race and not numbers, why aren’t Africans being targeted? Some estimates put illegal inmigrants from Africa close to the number of Europe, but they’re removed at a much smaller rate. No one claims that ice is targeting them either. Strange, if you’re kicking people out because they’re brown, you’d be doing it because they’re black too wouldn’t they?

….maybe it is because 80% of illegal immigrants are from south of the border.

My hot take is only immigrants committing crimes are a problem. Central/south Americans, Caribbeaners, Europeans, come live here spend money and contribute to our society. Who gives a shit how you got here.
There are people that do feel that way and then there are the older guard that will tell you their (insert relative here) came over legally and struggled to make it.

I don't believe in an open border.
I think the very concept of a border at all is kind of absurd. And if we’re talking god-fearing christians here, I don’t think their god intended on the earth he gifted them to be divided up and sold to the richest among them.

For sure!  I've been saying this for years.  Borders are simply lines drawn on a map, often with little to no connection or relevance to bio-regions or natural features.  Their just simply lines that carve up the planet with the intent on maintaining power and/or keeping the human cattle in a gigantic pen.  Take away those lines of control, and groups of people will natural gravitate toward regions that suite their instinctual preferences.

Not that anything you or I say will make any difference, of course.

Removals and returns are two distinct and different processes and you’re correct in that one is a legal process, via immigration court/judge, you know due process, currently suspended, apparently, and the other is either voluntary, whereby the individual withdraws their request to enter the country or returns to their country at a port of entry, not having been permitted to enter the country. The reason blacks or Africans don’t appear to be targeted is because it’s much more difficult for them to obtain a visa to board a flight to arrive at a port of entry, unlike Canada , UK and EU countries. But sure, let’s go after the blacks as well. Equal application of immigration laws should not just apply to the “brown” people.

The link you provided shows Canada is roughly half 18,500 of Mexico’s 39,800 as country of origin for returns, which are voluntary or denied entry. What we’re seeing with snatching off the streets is “removal” and it’s not being done equitably from what I’ve seen.

Are you sleeping better at night knowing the “other” is being snatched off the street without due process?

Do you just mean universal open borders?

Bio-regions most often blend and bleed to varying degrees at their edges, and thus are borders that are neither fixed nor static.  The only somewhat stationary physical borders that exist naturally are water, and even then, those are borders that fluctuate, ebb and flow, change course, rise and fall.   The advent of surveying and mapping brought about what we refer to today as borders.  And again, most of those are simply lines on a map, some having been demarcated by walls, fences, or roads, but most are merely lines.

As for differing laws, governments, and regulations (as well as customs and habits), these existed before there were set borders such as we have today.  So, yes, I think you could refer to laws and various governing bodies as types of borders.  But if we didn't have artificial borders, and generally lived regionally, there would still be various forms of governing, leaders and rulers, hierarchies, laws, rules, and social mores, but those would generally be localized, or regional at most.

Will we ever have open borders?  I can't imagine that will happen.  I think the only way we would have open border or would go back to living regionally without artificial borders would be due to the event of a catastrophic collapse of civilization.  Which, of course, is very possible. Some would even say, inevitable.  I don't think we're there yet, but it doesn't make for interesting conversation and contemplation.

Iranian woman, who has lived in US for 47 years, taken by Ice while gardening

Madonna ‘Donna’ Kashanian, 64, was taken by plainclothes officers from her home in New Orleans

A 64-year-old Iranian woman, who has lived in the US for 47 years, was detained by immigration agents on Sunday morning while gardening outside her home in New Orleans.

According to a witness, plainclothes officers in unmarked vehicles handcuffed Madonna “Donna” Kashanian and transported her to a Mississippi jail before transferring her to the South Louisiana Ice processing center in Basile, reports Nola.

Kashanian arrived in the US in 1978 on a student visa and later applied for asylum, citing fears of persecution due to her father’s ties to the US-backed Shah of Iran. Her asylum request was ultimately denied, but she was granted a stay of removal on the condition she comply with immigration requirements, a condition her family says she always met.

She has no criminal record but remains in Ice custody.

The timing of Kashanian’s detention came just hours after US airstrikes in Iran. Federal officials did not comment on her specific case, though the DHS released a statement highlighting the arrests of 11 Iranians nationwide over the weekend, according to Nola.

Kashanian had moved to New Orleans as a teenager and built a life over four decades. She often shared Persian recipes on YouTube and was active in her daughter’s schools.

Her family said Kashanian had long feared deportation, especially after Trump’s election. She attempted to adjust her status through marriage to a US citizen, but was denied due to a past marriage the government deemed fraudulent.

Neighbors told Nola that Kashanian’s arrest lasted less than a minute. Later that day, she briefly called her family during processing. The family didn’t hear from her again until Tuesday.

Since then, her husband and daughter have been scrambling to find legal help, a challenging task due to the high number of detainees and limited immigration attorneys in Louisiana.

Ice also arrested two Iranian LSU students in Baton Rouge at their off-campus apartment earlier this week. Last week, Ice announced that they arrested 84 people during a raid at a south-west Louisiana racetrack. Of the 84, Ice said “at least two” had criminal records.

Statistics from early June, previously reported on by the Guardian, demonstrated an 807% increase in arrests of people without criminal histories since before Donald Trump’s second inauguration this January. Data suggests Ice is holding about 59,000 detainees in facilities across the country.
