Writing this for my former Neighbor Yolanda, who welcomed me with open arms when I bought my 1st home 8 years ago. You never know who a neighbor might be, you hope for something neutral at the very least but she is a wonderful human being. She had lived in her home with her husband since the 60’s… she was so kind and wonderful to me and my GF that we would often go and visit , have some wine on her front porch… she was in her 80s at the time, we were in our mid 30s but you’d never know it… just three old souls ( Yolanda would say who you calling old, speak for yourself 😜) telling us stories about the neighborhood, her late husband etc… she finally sold the home to move into a assisted living home in update NY ( 4 hours away) closer to her daughter.. she’s now almost 90 I believe. Her beloved cat Gabe passed over the weekend 😞 and I’m concerned what this will do to her.. he was her rock, companion, feel so terrible for her

My wife and I have become the "cat people" of the neighborhood. We are ok with that. At 5am this morning I was out on the front porch giving all the precious kitties their treats.

Do the kitties pay any attention to the cicada noises? I was blown away by how loud those suckers were last August. Thought it was noises from the train for my first 12 hours in town before realizing the sound was from the trees.
