I wish I could get visits from the neighborhood kitties but my cat chases away anyone non-human who comes on the property. I think he has that toxic masculinity thing the kids talk about.

My wife and I have become the "cat people" of the neighborhood. We are ok with that. At 5am this morning I was out on the front porch giving all the precious kitties their treats.

Do the kitties pay any attention to the cicada noises? I was blown away by how loud those suckers were last August. Thought it was noises from the train for my first 12 hours in town before realizing the sound was from the trees.

Really great..she is very lazy anyway so she isn't too encumbered.
We have the outdoor pen to put her in as it's summer here now and she sun bathes. Really grateful to everyone

My cats usually don’t snuggle very often. But I came across this the other day.

    ^Aww such sweet babies

I’m taking care of my sister’s house/animals while her fam is in Hawaii - 5 dogs, 1 tortoise, 1 bird and 8 cats - including 2 cats belonging to my niece in college and 1 feral kitten they saved from being eaten by a hungry coyote the night before they went out of town. The kitten was all alone near their house, starving and eating bugs to survive. Don’t think it’s ever been around humans. I’ve been spending time with it since I got here Tues am. Was hiding behind the toilet when I first arrived. Now it likes when I sit by it, play some Sturgill Simpson.. purrs non stop and cuddles up in the blanket closest to me 🥹 I haven’t tried to pet it yet, but we’re making progress. Think I might love it 😻

That is so cute.It looks like you have tamed him/her? I am sure your sister and family will come home to a nice surprise. I am so glad they saved it from the coyote. My cat, Lukin was saved from a dog attack. I think I posted this story before, but all of his siblings were killed by the dog, he was the only one left when a guy ran up and shooed the dog away. He ended up being fostered, and I got him when he was 9 weeks old. He was only a month old when rescued so was not feral at all. He was super friendly from the get go, and still is. He went from the streets to being super spoiled - as I am sure this little guy will be.

Oh no, what an awful story. I hadn’t read that before. It’s a miracle Lukin was saved and very lucky to have such a good home with you. This baby sure is melting me.. I’m shocked at how fast our progress was today. Guess it just needed a little love and patience.
