    I’d say Hannibal is a different type of film. So it is worth a watch regardless of its connection to the first one. 

    Red Dragon is a middling copy of the first one but when it came out it was fun watching and revisiting Lector and his cell and to see all the actors that returned.

    Technically a prequel, but a good watch, try Manhunter. It has the first appearance of Hannibal. A very different movie, though. Early Michael Mann film. Hannibal is not played by Hopkins, but Brian Cox.

    Additionally, I'll plug the TV show series remake from a decade ago with Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal. Gruesome, but fantastic.

    Well, yeah, it was certainly entertaining, lol. Don't watch it with your kids or parents though. :lol: It might be uncomfortable for some people... The dominant/submissive thing gets a bit icky at times IMO.

    I started watching it on the plane while heading back home from New Orleans. I didn't manage to watch the last 20 mins. It was a quite interesting format for a movie.
