Not interested in what? Understanding that Joe Biden was in severe decline and people tried to hide it despite him being unfit to be president? Seems pretty important...and I will say it seemed obvious to anyone that wasn't a Dem lemming.
I'm not a Dem lemming (or maybe I am?) and I think it's bullshit.
My dad has early dementia and Joe Biden is no where near that. Biden is still able to give speeches (he just did a week ago) and yes, he's old, he stutters, he loses his thoughts, etc., but "severe decline" is a stretch.
You must have missed the debate....it was the nail in the coffin and it was what anyone around him had to be seeing on a regular basis.
I saw it...it was bad in parts. Not bad in other parts. But again....he's an old man acting like an old man.
Thirty-five Congressional Democrats wanted President Biden to step aside as the result of the debate because he acted like an old man?
We didn't need an old man so....yeah
It's funny how many people stopped worrying about having an old man as president once the democratic candidate wasn't an old man.

My point was if he wasn't an "old man" pre-debate on 6/27/24, did the +1 day (6/28/25) age him immensely to become too old to run deemed by Congressional Democrats?

Dude people on the job site I am on are saying he got cancer for granting pardons to all the radical liberals.
I hate people so much. I’m so glad I don’t have to listen to any political bullshit in my daily life unless I purposely subject myself to it here. Sorry you have to listen to nonsense like that.
Nick, some time ago you suggested my participation on AMT seemed unhealthy for me (I forget the exact words). Your telling me that was one of the factors that has led me to backing off from AMT quite it bit, and being immersed in soul scarring news so often. Not that it isn't important to stay informed, or care, or even try to make a difference, but unless one has that stamina of a Heather Cox Richardson, or the ability to compartmentalize like my wife does (she can rail against tyrants one minute, and be in a very calm and centered space the next), it's just not healthy to let current events destroy your peace of mind and physical well-being. I'm as unhappy as ever about this current administration, but by not being as obsessed with and over-indulging in current events as I was for a long time, I'm a healthier, and probably more likeable, person than I was for far too long.
Thank you!
Nick also created peace in my life by suggesting I find a picture of a shirtless Ben Affleck to use as an avatar. It changed my life. Never been so fulfilled in every possible way. Thank you Nick.

There’s NOTHING better than looking at your avatar while you’re going off on some serious political debate. I can’t tell you happy I am you kept it.
You guys are goofballs!

My uneducated guess is they saw his health deteriorating a while before the debate and immediately afterwards, based on his performance, they started to discuss decided to move on from him.
It's my belief that it wasn't an age issue as some here a are pointing to. Like before the debate everything was fine, but afterwards, in the group chat, people are saying, "Ya'll think Joe is too old to run again? That day really did a number on him."
I don't think all had constant contact with him, but they had to have made their decision based on something, right? My guess is the people who had contact with him and felt obligated to share what they knew and reached out to others.
There is also a difference between what we saw. Some people noticed things that were questionable and spoke up and were treated a certain way and then there were others that explained it away as the usual, "He has a stutter, what about/now do Trump, he's a gaffe machine", etc.

I'm not clever, whatsoever. No, really.
"It's funny how many people stopped worrying about having an old man as president once the democratic candidate wasn't an old man."
It didn't mention cognitive decline.
I took that post as: people were "worried" about Biden's age (81) until he dropped out, but okay with with old man (78) staying in.
My opinion, in which I'm fine with being wrong, and sounding like a broken record at this point, is that age wasn't an issue as much as President Biden's decline was. Stories have been around for a while and with the election being lost to the other party, there'll be more info to come.

If it took the debate to question his decline, you weren't paying attention. People seem to think being hyper-focused on trump during biden’s term was doing them a favor. His presidency was greatly sheltered for a reason, and the majority of democrats didn’t even notice. I'm just glad the great awakening finally occurred, albeit far too late.

Are you old enough to remember second term Reagan? Certainly up until the debate, Biden seemed no more impaired than Reagan.
The lesson here is cut with the old ass president bullshit. Including the deranged guy currently in the WH

I was not old enough to be paying attention to politics during reagan’s second term. I, and seemingly others here seem to have witnessed troubling signs before the debate in this instance, however. I’m all for age limits. It’s the logical thing to do, imo.

The last year of his presidency. The fact that the debate performance was so horrific, so off the charts terrible is evidence that they hid his condition. No one outside of hardcore republicans saw that coming, and I think even trump was surprised it was that bad, based on his reactions during the debate.. Also, administration members now fighting back Tappers book are “anonymous” not willing to go on the record when defending Biden. Interesting.

Every trump speech or press conference is a constant barrage of lies/untruths/exaggerations, etc.
Now trump is using this new Biden attack as an excuse...things are bad because the dems hid Biden's issues from us. Has nothing to do with trump's tariff bullshit or trump's horrible lack of leadership. Let's sell books for Tapper.

I hear ya, but regardless this country is doomed because we are a mindless society that thinks because our institutional political system is set up to be a binary choice that apparently that means these choices are also weighted the same. Just absolute Idiocracy on the constant rise.
The Atlantic published a story by Mark Leibovich that discusses this whole cover-up angle and how you can't really call a cover-up what was there for all to see. The bigger issue was people lying about how "sharp" he was in meetings and behind closed doors. After Trump's term, I hope we can move past electing feeble old men barely hanging on to their minds, whether they're heartless bastards or creepy grandpa types. 12 years of that shit is way too long.

Kamala Harris was neither of those things.
I'm talking about who was elected and ultimately Kamala was screwed because she was attached to Biden and had no way to separate herself from what was perceived as a "cover-up" regarding his cognitive functionality. I don't blame her because it's not like she could say, yeah, he's losing it, but let's keep him in until the election is over. This is a case where Biden needed to swallow his pride, step aside and put Kamala in charge until after the election. That scenario was never going to happen though.

Well...we saw that on TV a lot too. He was sharp at times. He was sharp a few weeks ago on live TV.
He didn't trail off from a speech and start talking about sharks and magnets or how millions of people were dying in Ukraine. Or how Ukraine started a war, etc.

My point was if he wasn't an "old man" pre-debate on 6/27/24, did the +1 day (6/28/25) age him immensely to become too old to run deemed by Congressional Democrats?

i also didn’t and do not think Trump is fit to be president. He’s mentally unstable in a different way. But the Biden issue was clear for anyone to see that cared to.
It's my belief that it wasn't an age issue as some here a
are pointing to.

Now trump is using this new Biden attack as an excuse...things are bad because the dems hid Biden's issues from us. Has nothing to do with trump's tariff bullshit or trump's horrible lack of leadership. Let's sell books for Tapper.
I'm not saying that Biden's condition isn't news but holy shit he dropped out.

He didn't trail off from a speech and start talking about sharks and magnets or how millions of people were dying in Ukraine. Or how Ukraine started a war, etc.
