Looks like Gaslight Anthem may be touring with Counting Crows this summer. Not sure I can sit through a Counting Crows show… not even to see TGA. Counting Crows are the only show I’ve ever seen that I would describe as terrible.
Yeah I don't think I can do it either. I like Counting Crows and they have a lot of really good songs, but they're one of the worst live bands I've ever seen. Just awful in concert.

I’m really torn about what to do. 😫

I used to love Counting Crows and was really excited to see them in concert at Red Rocks in 2023. I was surprised how bad they sounded and so I think I will sit this one out even though TGA is still on my list of bands to see live. They seem to come around Denver often enough I may hold out until they are a headliner again.

Denver (2022) Fort Worth 2 (2023) Las Vegas 2 (2024) Atlanta 1 (2025) Atlanta 2 (2025)
So… right now there is an opening at the Stone Pony summer stage for the days leading up to and including June 20th when TGA will not be in NY to open two shows for Counting Crows. I really hope that means they will be adding a TGA only local show here in NJ. I might hold out and see if that gets dropped in the next few months.

I'm on the fence for this. The crowd singing along at a TGA concert is what makes they're shows great for me. I doubt the CC fans will be into TGAs set.
two of my favorite bands. CC, obviously more then than now.
I’ve seen CC 3x. two were absolutely stellar; the most recent was good but not spectacular. seen TGA four times; one show absolutely sucked but brian was sick as a dog.
I’m tempted for this tour but a) I hate TGA being the opener and b) the venue kinda sucks.

Great find! So it will be available to order online or at the stadium? It’s only a 15 or 20 minute ride for me to the blue claws stadium but just ordering online would be a convenience.

They're usually online. They've had some great collabs...Dinosaur Jr, Band of Horses, My Morning Jacket. Crazy names in this batch too.

I met Alex Levine, the bass player, this afternoon! My daughter and I ran into Wegmans (supermarket chain in the northeast) to pick up a a few things for dinner and I spotted him near the meat department. I was instantly 99% certain it was him. I know he owns a barber shop in Bradley Beach which is about 10 minutes away. He had a long sleeve t shirt from the Asbury Park speed shop on so I could only spot one tattoo which was on his neck. I did a quick google search to confirm the tattoo on his neck was the same to spare myself any embarrassment if it ended up not being him. Then I ambushed him while he was picking out some prepackaged salads. He was super cool and gave me a fist bump. I told him how much our family enjoyed the music. He was so gracious and just kept saying thank you. I probably talked to him for around a minute or so but it felt like 10 minutes. We talked about the upcoming tour with counting crows and he told me “it’s going to be a long summer” and kind of rolled his eyes. We talked real quick about the stone pony and a couple of other local spots. I didn’t want to overstay my welcome so I tried to keep it short and just thanked him for all the great music and got out of there. Also other people nearby were picking up on the conversation and I could tell they realized this guy wasn’t the average supermarket shopper. Super nice guy and so cool to meet him. 🤘🏻

That's great, he really is a good guy. Alex used to cut my hair when he worked in the shop in Asbury. The first time I went to that shop, I randomly made an appointment with him based on who was available when I was. I was somewhat familiar with GA at the time, but had no idea who he was. When I was sitting in the chair and he was chatting with me, he eventually told me he played in a band and when he told me it was GA I was completely blown away. I went back to him numerous times (he is a really great barber!) until the shop raised their prices beyond my budget. These were the years that the band was on hiatus so he was keeping busy working in the shop and I think he had a newborn at home as well. I never wanted to press him too much to talk about the band but he did share a few cool stories.

That’s so cool he cut your hair! Seems like such a down to earth guy.
I know before he had his own place he was cutting hair at Swagger & Blade in Wanamassa and I would always keep my eye out for him there but I never saw him. 😣 But I had to stop going there… the owner, Shane, was just too much sometimes.

The Jersey Shore BlueClaws, Official League, and New Jersey’s own The Gaslight Anthem are teaming up for the first time ever to bring fans an unforgettable night of baseball, music, and hometown pride. On Thursday, May 22nd, the three will debut an exclusive capsule collection as part of the second drop in Official League’s groundbreaking Local Legends series, with a special appearance by the band at ShoreTown Ballpark during the BlueClaws’ game against the Brooklyn Cyclones.
The band will be in attendance at the ballpark that night, and the BlueClaws have also launched a limited ticket and merch package available now BY CLICKING HERE, which includes the following:
One game ticket to the May 22nd game
Your choice of an Official League wool or corduroy hat from the new collection
