Right or wrong, as a matter of opinion, if a government agency sets forth a factual basis for a determination, it is very difficult for that decision to be overturned in court. US agencies are granted deference and discretion if they have even a shred of a factual basis for their determination. Even if that factual basis is open to different interpretations. If a determination is overturned, the government usually gets a chance to revise their findings. This applies to many agencies. Agency decisions do get overturned if a court finds they acted in a way that is arbitrary and capricious. But that is the exception rather than the rule.

I doubt it. The campus actions are only fueling resentment against the cause. At least from my first hand experience. If the chickens come home to roost it will not be on the side of these protesters or any acts of retaliation. Higher education is not going away. It has survived many controversies like segregation, Vietnam, no nukes, and civil rights. And those involved the plight of US citizens. I think you might be overestimating how much the average american cares about fighting in the middle east. Yes Education. And for the most part my kids will not need loans unless they choose a very expensive private university. I have been saving for them since they were born. At my personal sacrifice. I happen to think it is a good thing if student loans are harder to get. Took me 20 years to pay mine off and that is the last thing I would wish on any kid. I never said I did not give a shit. But trying to take a position on a conflict that predates my existence is much farther down the ladder than ensuring my kids have the best possible life experience.
It will take years, maybe decades to defund the DOE. Regardless of the reasons. You cannot undo that with a swipe of a pen. I think most government agencies could probably use more efficiency. Much of what Trump does is smoke and mirrors. Hence the tariff roll back. Yeah Liberty was a failed business attempt, but far from the worst I have experienced from New York businessmen. He made money and paid his penalties when he got called out. And yes, I do live in a bubble. 100% privileged white male American. I am not in denial about that. But it is not by accident. I think that decision definitely gave the courts more power. But I do think that that the courts will still rely on agency interpretations in most cases. It is too early to tell how far that decision will reach.

I doubt it. The campus actions are only fueling resentment against the cause. At least from my first hand experience. If the chickens come home to roost it will not be on the side of these protesters or any acts of retaliation. Higher education is not going away. It has survived many controversies like segregation, Vietnam, no nukes, and civil rights. And those involved the plight of US citizens. I think you might be overestimating how much the average american cares about fighting in the middle east. The politicians may be driven by money, but ask your buddy down the road his opinion on the conflict. He probably has no answer.
I look forward to when all the top businesses, law firms and industry are staffed with graduates of Liberty University.
