the United States is the only country in North America that is a worldwide leader in medical innovation, technology and pharmaceuticals if not the worldwide leader.Other countries receive our technology, treatments and pharmaceuticals for pennies on the dollar. Canadians criticizing our system have little knowledge about the benefit they receive from it. For nearly free.
its absolutely possible that Donnie is fed up with the United States subsidizing other countries free healthcare on the backs of the American taxpayer.
its rich to read a comment from a member here attacking my comment about his research cuts with a whoops , someone who directly benefits from my payment of taxes to my government.0 -

HughFreakingDillon said:Haha more deflection. The undeniable fact is this specific debate you decided to enter is about medical research, not that you received procedures quickly or for free.
The Ivy League is NOT receiving billions per year to finance routine procedures like appendicitis.Go back and read the original comment if you again choose to disagree with fact. Canadians benefit from American medical research, complain when it’s cut, and attack American taxpayers funding this for not understanding what Donnie may be doing here. They have zero knowledge that American moderates or conservative have been pissed for years at this problem. That’s the origin of this disagreement.Geez man, is this really that difficult?0 -

That’s this topic YOU ENGAGED ME TO PROVIDE DEFENCE (WITH A C ) OF YOUR FELLOW CANADIAN.
man, I know you’re playing around and having fun, because you seriously wouldn’t debate against truth IRL, but here is a screen shot of the beginning, with her attack against me, just for kicks. It’s aboot medical research, no “conflation” here.0 -

‘ substandard “free” healthcare ’
the substandard is that other countries are able to provide free care to cut corners and rely on USA to finance advancement. That’s an accepted fact0 -

‘Yes America has issues with mortality rates. The cause of that is very different from the level of Health Care available here.’
As if our low rankings in the health indicators has nothing to do with healthcare. And then you bounced over to our high costs bring innovation. It's okay to admit that Americans have decent health care when they can afford it.Post edited by Go Beavers on0 -

It's okay to admit that Americans have decent health care when they can afford it.You have the topic completely incorrect. It is MEDICAL RESEARCH.The genesis of the disagreement was my original complaint about the USA taxpayers subsidizing Ivy League medical costs. I was attacked first by a female Canadian for not understanding university research is for medical. A rather insulting comment from someone enjoying USA medical research to improve care she gets as a result of our tax dollars. Typically other countries pay for our advancements at a huge discount. Is this not fact?
Then a male Canadian decided to but in and again attack my comment, because I referred to “substandard medical care” in Canada. Yes I left off the bit about medical research in a subsequent comment, but the dialogue text is clear to see on page 18 and my later screen shots. I am referring to medical research. Are you assuming that I forgot the attack by the original Canadian was about medical research, or that I am not smart enough to know what I was talking about?
yes we have issues with mortality rates, but that is a complex issue that has to do with other factors.
the fact is people come from around the world when needed to my city when that is one of the few places in the world where many specialties exist. A close friend needed a rare procedure, nothing life threatening but it needed to be done. Their out of pocket was u def a grand for a procedure that had a gross cost over $1 million. So please don’t lecture me. I know for a fact this specialty does not exist in socialized countries,0 -

Canadians criticizing our system have little knowledge about the benefit they receive from it. For nearly free.
its absolutely possible that Donnie is fed up with the United States subsidizing other countries free healthcare on the backs of the American taxpayer.
its rich to read a comment from a member here attacking my comment about his research cuts with a whoops , someone who directly benefits from my payment of taxes to my government.Even have a screen shot for you one and two posts above (yours) to prove I am being accurate. The topic is medical research and how the us taxpayers subsidize this cost.
edit to include “yours”
‘Yes America has issues with mortality rates. The cause of that is very different from the level of Health Care available here.’
As if our low rankings in the health indicators has nothing to do with healthcare. And then you bounced over to our high costs bring innovation.
I know for a fact this specialty does not exist in socialized countries,I’ll do it again @go beavers this time with red circles, hope this helps document the fact where this originated and what I was talking about. Medical researchCanadian healthcare is substandard because it does not innovate. When you need help, do you want treatments and outcomes decades old?
No. You want the newest and best. Most of which made in America. Paid for by Americans. And I was attacked here on this page by two Canadians not thanking me for my tax payments but complaining medical research was paused and mocking the country where most of their healthcare innovation comes from.
If you wish to change the topic to outcomes, that’s a topic more about obesity and poverty. Are you going to a world class specialist in NY and blaming them for the obesity causing poor outcomes? Or that republicans limit Medicaid access from those who need it? They’d look at someone making that argument as if they were nuts. But that’s the leftist argument here.
And 20% of Canadians don’t have access to primary doctors. We can ask that NDP fella they all ignore of all the other outrageous problems up north in their crumbling care system.
This began because A Canadian who benefits from American research and pays cents on the dollar for it had the audacity to attack my comment about donnie questioning research spending and another joined in without a clue on this topic.
