    This kind of thing - the coming takeover of the American government by crazy evangelicals - is discussed heavily in the limited-series documentaries "The Family" (2019, Netflix) and "Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets" (2023, Prime). Yes indeed, it is possibly way too late for people to stop now, and it blows my mind that it continues to get ignored the way it is. They have made a TON of headway since either of those documentaries were released.
