I think it's fair to say that Pearl Jam is/was anti-proactive war, as in Iraq and Afghanistan, where the impetus was the false accusations of WMD, and it was more about nation building along with extracting resources from the region. I just don't understand how these people don't put themselves in the shoes of a Ukrainian. They are a people with their own culture, language, history and a desire to be free. And they have made it clear with the Revolution of Dignity and the elections after that they want to be aligned with the West, not the East. You have to study Ukrainian history for less than hour to understand why they distrust and hate the Russians so deeply. So it's insulting that some Americans can't comprehend why they would fight for their freedom rather than live under the iron fist of Putin, whatever the cost.

To think it was as simple as Putin just decided on a whim to attack Ukraine is dangerous and reckless at best.
