Yeah I am not in full disagreement. I just think we tend to throw around some pretty large terms (me as well) and wanted to take a step back and see if it really makes sense. I also think Trump was already a traitor on Jan 6th....mickeyrat said:cincybearcat said:

For what it's worth-- and the Constitution no longer seems to be relevant, alas-- the Constitution defines treason as "levying War against [the United States], or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort." But... additional statutes were created that expanded the definition. They were used against the Rosenbergs even though we were not at war with the USSR.
