I leave every PJ show feeling like it was worth all the expense and time. Sounds like TOOL made a lot of people pretty mad

Sounded terrible. Yes always a risk seeing a band for two nights if they aren’t known for mixing up their sets. But when it’s advertised as a weekend away you would have thought they would have mixed stuff up.

I was at Buffalo 2013 the show before and thought at the time Ed was starting to come down with a cold.
We thought that (Ed) but then someone told us that it’s a horrible sound system in Buffalo.  Don’t know if that true(?).

Unless they explicitly said they were doing that, I wouldn't have thought that would be a given at all. I thought the appeal was more about the destination aspect and variety of other bands performing.

If you're scheduling your own festival and only selling full weekend packages you should not be repeating songs.

Especially when you're only playing 2 nights.

Especially when you've only scheduled yourself for 90 minutes each night.

and especially when you don't even play the full 90mins on night 2.
But that was probably because the atmosphere was already pretty vile and another repeat would have finished the set...

Also, don't advertise 2 unique sets, and then troll your audience about their justified expectation for a different set on night 2.

& while we're at it, drop the friggin' 10 minute drum solo.

I was glad to finally see them for the first time last year, but after looking at the setlists from the past four years, I realised I could easily wait another five or six years before seeing them again—basically until they release another album, if that ever happens.
It’s way better being a Pearl Jam fan, as long as you’re not stuck in Europe most of the time...

There was a period from about 2006-2014 where people not from Europe complained about how much PJ was playing in Europe.  Their touring cycles and locales have ebbs and flows.  You just happened to jump in where they had a couple tough tours with cancellations, after having not been in EU since 2018.  Prior to that they were very good to UK/EU fans for about 12 years.

Oh yeah, I really enjoyed 2006 a lot, as well as 2007. I think at that time, I thought I had seen enough, and Backspacer wasn't my favourite album when it came out. But it’s funny to think that between 2009 and 2012, I could have seen Pearl Jam four times in Berlin alone, without having to travel much.
And hey, I was never keen on the forum either back then, but yeah, choices, right?

I saw Tool in 2009 and 2017 and it felt like the same exact show even though the sets were slightly different.  I could never love a band who treats their fans like that.

4k plus for ten songs each night? Fuck that. Never liked Tool anyway. If Pearl Jam ever does one of these weekend getaway travel packages I am done.

They're a lot of fun when they're done right. The My Morning Jacket OBHs have been fantastic. Tool executed poorly. I would have faith in a Pearl Jam one if they did it.

So I guess you are not a fan of ohana travel packages? I know you can do ohana on the cheap but one of those packages with exchange rate and all is close to 4K for some people.

Was the tool fest just a three day concert of did they all get goodies etc..
