    Speaking of Rockin, Jack White’s version of that transitioning into Seven Nations Army to close the concert was epic, prededed by Lady Gaga singing a beautiful solo version of Shallow.  Great home entertainment on a cold winter night.

    I assume he wasn’t asked.  JW didn’t have anyone up with him, and his version of Rockin turned into SNA - the thousand points of light verse was sung to the music of SNA.  It was pretty good I have to say.

    It’s not like he changed to a song that dropped the F bomb a hundred times.  The lyrics to Radio Radio are pretty tame and even if it’s about corporate censorship most of the audience probably would have never picked up on it.  His label was mad cause they wanted him to play a different song but I don’t know why SNL/ Lorne would have cared that much.
    This is obviously not how the world of live television being aired to millions of households (especially in the weird country of bleeping certain words and stuff works. I don't see how one would not think Lorne as the producer would consider it as a serious breech and lack of respect towards the show and him. 
    I get that Lorne might be a little bothered in the moment but to carry the grudge for over 10 years is an overreaction for the “crime” of doing one song vs another.  The two songs are basically the same length in time with the album version of Radio Radio actually clocking in 9 seconds shorter than Less than Zero.  So the change in song would have basically no affect on the blocking of the show.  Second, Elvis was a last minute replacement for the Sex Pistols because supposedly Sid Vicious had visa problems so SNL needed to find a quick replacement.  They first tried the Ramones who declined and then got Elvis since they happened to be in the area.  You would think that since they were helping fill in that SNL would be a little more lenient to let the artists choose which songs they were going to play.  Plus Radio Radio is way less edgy than whatever the Sex Pistols were probably going to do.  I would think that for a show that identified itself as part of the counterculture, Lorne should have recognized the moment for what it was but since he’s a well known control freak he couldn’t let it go for a decade.
    It's what the record company wanted at the time and all of these people are buddies with one another and if you don't listen, no matter how stupid it is, they come for you and make you pay the price if you don't kiss the ring or bow down to their every move.

    World doesn't suck at all, it could be a lot worse like other parts of the world, with that said, being critical and having an opinion should be allowed even though one might not agree with it. Personally, I thought the whole snl50 thing was overrated musically, only a few good performances and the skits on Friday and Sunday weren't that funny but to each there own. Just because we're PJ fans doesn't mean you have to like everything they do, say or have an interest in.

    Yeah, the skits to me weren’t that funny as I have seen all those sketches previously.  The fifth version of the bit will never be as funny as the first couple.  

    Was fun for nostalgia purposes. For what it was intended to be.
