“I don’t care about the cost since I have to buy it anyway”. And you want ME to get a clue. Hahaha. I sure hope you aren’t in any type of financial advisory role, my man. Yikes.

Literally replace “groceries” or “gas” with any other policy that affects you but you can’t single handedly change yourself and you will create some of the stupidest statements ever spoken on this forum.

“ I dont care about cost of healthcare, correct

Because regardless of the cost I have to buy it.  I can't single handedly lower the cost of healthcare and for my fellow Americans.”

“I dont care about affects of climate change, correct, I can't single handedly fix climate change for my fellow Americans.”

Go ahead, play along. See for yourself how utterly stupid it sounds. 😂

So let me guess.  You are the guy who looks at the price of gas on the lit up sign, and drives to the next town to save .07 cents on a gallon of gas?  Or, if you don't like the price, do you just not buy gas?  Hop the bus to work that week? Or if you don't like the cost of food, do you just not eat?  I'm pretty sure you still buy the gas and food, Hughdillon.  But you whine about the cost. I don't.  I just buy the things we need to live.  And if/when the cost goes down, that's wonderful.  Feel free to spin doctor my posts all you like, and I'll call it out all day, eh.

Dealer: well (haha), I have a 1976 Honda Civic with 375,000 miles. Only $64,999
Battle: well, I need a car, and I can’t change the price, so, DEAL
Dealer: OH MY GAW-I mean, sign right here!
Battle: you’re a sucker, but happy new year!

Now lets have the real conversation, not the canadian spin doctors version:

battIe: I am looking for a gently used vehicle.
    dealer:  I have a 1976 Honda Civic with 375,000 miles. Only $64,999
battle: That is not gently used, have a nice day, sir.

Isn’t calling me condescending an “unnecessary personal attack”? You know, the kind you are constantly whining about? More projection.

“Give them the shirt off my back?”. From the same person who said “no way in hell I’d ever lower rent in my properties”, “I don’t care about gas prices” and “I don’t care about grocery prices”. 😂 sure buddy. You’re such a giving citizen. 😂

Now go wish more people a happy new year after insulting them. You remind me of a mean girl who calls someone fat then says “BYYEEEEE” and waves when walking away.

    Grow up.
Ha. I'm sorry that hurt your feelings, Hughdillon. Give me a break, sir.  Folks do not just lower rent costs to be nice to one another.  Thats not how it works.  You love to cherry pick, and like your internet posse, create your own false narratives. I dont care about cost of food or gas, correct.  Why?  Because regardless of the cost I have to buy it.  I can't single handedly lower the cost of food and gas for my fellow Americans.  My stance has nothing to do with my generosity. Almost unbearable...

    Get a clue.

Isn’t the point that 47 lied about the economy to get elected?

And no politician is willing to state the simple truth, that rents are high because real estate prices are high because of the soaring stock market. So they can’t really make an argument that the soaring stock market is bad, right?

So what are we left with? Attacking each other because Politicians can’t tell a simple truth. Even the one claiming to fight against the deep state, while hiring a team of billionaires to make themselves wealthier

not just the stock market raising costs. isnt investment group goggling up property then charging what they choose.

case in point. house around thr corner , tax assessed value 159k. bought by such a group. cosmetics done, would guess no more than 50k in renovations. nothing major, didnt take long. fuckers then listed at 499k. price dropped because this was at the tail of that earlier madness and I would need to confirm final sale price but would guess 425k.

one such group littered my neighborhood wirh brochures. throwing them on the ground. emailed the assholes to complain. smug motherfucker then claimed to own half the neighborhood and said his marketing gimmick worked. littering on others property( door hanger cards)

    fuck all these vultures.

Among other lies, yeah, that's a biggie.  It still pretty much blows me away that so many people still think 47 is going to follow through on his promise to make their lives better.  WHAT?  I've never seen such deep denial- not even about climate change (although I guess some MAGAs still deny that monster in the room).
And all of this follows with the crumbling of America.  Perhaps this was inevitable.  When the quality of education fails like it has in America, and too many people lose the ability to think critically, and the ability or willingness to think past the bullshit that is propagated by lying radical right wing news sources and sketchy social media, and too many fall in line with a liar who makes false promises, and too many find oligarchy and kakistocracy and dictatorship to be more attractive than democracy, the thing is going to fail.
Hopefully the pendulum really does swing.  There's a glimmer of hope.  Look at the civil war going on in the spit MAGAs.  Trump is failing before his second term even gets off the ground.  But meanwhile, there will be heaps of damage while this all happens.

This is unfortunate, brianlux.  Just a few short days ago, after receiving your letter from Melanie Griffin of the progressive organization Third Act, you really seemed to have a newfound passion and hope for a positive America.  This last post above seems to show you have reverted.  I am sorry to see this, and I really hope you can get back to a peaceful place, with love for, and belief in Country at the forefront.

Seeing how “Happy Days Are Here Again”, according to some, I’m posting what I think are legitimate markers of an administration’s success and their sources so that at the end of four years, we’ll have an accurate reflection of success or failure or something in-between. These will be as of January 20, 2025, and be periodically revisited.

I don’t have any faith in the incoming POOTWH administration for a variety of reasons. IMHO, you’ve got two to two and half years before the shit really hits the fan. Spend it if you’ve got it. Good luck.

    1.     Unemployment Rate as published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) December 2024: 4.1% The Employment Situation - December 2024

    2.      Average cost of a gallon of gas as of 01/13/2025, by region, per US Energy Information Administration (USEIA): US: $3.043; East Coast: $2.998; Midwest: $2.875; Gulf Coast: $2.613; Rocky Mountain: $2.881; West Coast: $3.770 Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Update - U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA)

    3.     Rate of Inflation as published by BLS: Past year: 2.9% CPI Home : U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics

    4.     Gross Domestic Product (GDP) Rate, by Quarter, as published by Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA): Q3/2024, 3.1% Gross Domestic Product | U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA)

    5.     Average Hourly Wage, All-Private as Published by the Federal Reserve Bank, St. Louis, December 2024: $35.69 Average Hourly Earnings of All Employees, Total Private (CES0500000003) | FRED | St. Louis Fed

    6.     Average CEO Compensation in S&P500 as published by the AFL-CIO: 2023: $17,700,000 average compensation; Ratio of CEO pay to worker pay: 268:1. 2024 Executive Paywatch

    7.     Estimated Percentage of Children in Poverty, Ages 0-17 as Published by the St. louis Federal Reserve: 2023: 16.0% Estimated Percent of People Age 0-17 in Poverty for United States (PPU18US00000A156NCEN) | FRED | St. Louis Fed

    8.     Stock Market, Dow Jones and S&P 500, last day of trading on 01/17/2025: DJIA: 43,487.83; S&P 500: 5,996.66.

    9.     Intangibles that are difficult to get consistent data on from a reliable source, as there are many and are usually lagging behind the times. Crime Rate and number of deaths of US Service Members overseas are two that come to mind. Also, cost of a gallon of milk, a dozen eggs, a loaf of bread and a pound of bacon. Suggestions on sources would be appreciated.

How else do you suggest we gauge or compare the two presidents! When inflation was high MAGA folks pointed to it at every turn that’s what got this thing who’s now representing America! Let’s see how he does Biden put up indisputable numbers now it’s all on this thing to get results! I will not address this President as anything but a piece of 💩 if someone doesn’t like it please ignore me
