    I grew up doing turkey but my wife did convince me it’s redundant with thanksgiving and too soon, so typically do seafood Xmas eve and beef Christmas Day now

    Same here. We always did turkey for Christmas, too, but 7-8 years ago became prime rib but since the kids have gotten older, we’ve discovered that everyone prefers appetizers throughout the day rather than a sit down meal. 

    I am jealous of some of the recipes here. We have a shellfish and peanut allergy in my house. Would kill for just a classic shrimp cocktail or even some crab cakes in the house. Oh well…

    We revised it about 5-6 years ago and it is fun to pick something different each year.

    My grandma used to make manicotti. Christmas eve was linguini with clam sauce and one with lobster sauce. Nice traditions.
    She later confessed she didn't like cooking, but did it to bring the family together. 

    The noise of the chatter and smells in that house live in me forever.

    I stuffed the bird and put it in the oven and I prepped all the vegetables.

    Then when my guests arrived me and the girls sat down while the guys finished up and served us! I got off easier than I thought. damn that was a good idea

    I couldn’t get pictures of my sea food platter as soon as I put it out it was gone! My daughters short ribs dinner was outstanding she’s a good cook, the clams Casino shrimp cocktails and oysters on the half shell disappeared but were delicious

    Same here @josevolution.  No time for photos, dinner was delicious.  We had two meat substitutions with vegetable tray bake so not a lot of cooking involved.  Then tomorrow we can have any leftovers with greens.   Hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas dinner xxx
