Thank you. I'd most likely buy good perogies and cook then like that. Someday from scratch. I was interested in the onion prep. I think I got it.soph189 said:
For the pierogis, we make the stuffing with farmers cheese mixed with some cheddar, boiled skinless potatoes, a whole egg and 1 yolk, a bit of lemon juice, sugar, salt and pepper. Run the cheese and potatoes through a sieve into a bowl then mix in everything else. We make the dough, roll it flat, cut out round pieces using a cup then put some stuffing and fold in half, pressing the edges to close with fork. Boil the completed pierogis in water and then combine with caramelized onions (made w/lots of butter!) and serve those babies with sour cream. Delish! I can PM you the full recipe if you ever want to try making them.Loujoe said:
How did you cook those perogies? Start to finish please. All looks yum.soph189 said:A few dishes from our Polish Xmas eve dinner - Barszcz (beet soup), potato and cheese pierogi and chrusciki (sour cream dough fried cookies)
