Ed is the antidote to toxic masculinity the world needs right now

We are absolutely drowning in toxic masculinity and machismo. It's on our screens 24/7 and comes at us in all forms (ultra patriarchy, homophobia, rampant transphobia etc).

This is why I appreciate what Ed (and the rest of the band) stands for. He always despised machismo. He encourages men to remain in touch with their emotions, as nebulous and as conflicting as they often are. He has shed tears in public numerous times, opened up about his own struggles with grief. He advocates kindness, solidarity and acceptance. 

This needs to be said. I hope he realizes the positive impact he has.

    Plus I don’t think he was body shaming anyone. A women was flashing him and he told her to stop pretty directly. Something about mosquito bites.
