Jazz Fest? It's a gigantic festival - the only time they've ever capped tickets was for The Stones last year.YAKIMATSU said:

Bigger challenge may be flight/lodging costs, honestly. Flying out of New Orleans during JF kept me from putting in for ATL.0 -
Thanks. Refundable hotel booked, but flights are crazy high.thefurnitureguy said:

You’ll be able to hear the band. Seeing them might be aspirational if it’s as big a venue as I think it is.thefurnitureguy said:

See is relative - but they have big screens out in the crowd and such. I've seen Pearl Jam there twice. I just sit in the boonies and put my feet up and watch/listen.RatherStarved said:

It's definitely a different way for me to take in a PJ show - I think it's okay, honestly.0 -

On the plus side (I know...), we wont have to dump our sub-par reserved seats and can fully rely on F2F!

This is the definition of random. Some will get all, some will get some, some will get none.danofun said:I gather speed from you fucking with me.0 -

I love this thread!!! Not because so many people went Ofer, but because lots of the people that missed out are the same people that never miss a show that they want to go to. It sucks that anyone missed out. The fact that several people in here also get better tickets than we could get in the drawing, just confirms that, if you really want to go, this is not really a problem.I love watching all of your hits during the F2F, and I have gotten great seats the last couple years that way, but really, if you want to go, you can go, and you can even get great seats. It just takes some effort, and a little luck.I'm skipping this tour as of now, but I have used some of your same tactics to score tickets, and I have no doubt that if people really want to see the shows, and have a preference of where to see it from, you can make it happen.

This is the truth. I think that I have managed to upgrade every single show since F2F has been introduced, including to GA a couple times.danofun said:On the plus side (I know...), we wont have to dump our sub-par reserved seats and can fully rely on F2F!
I am interested to see what tix are on sale on Friday morning. I have a feeling it will be the least desirable tix up for grabs, preying on those that were shut out on presale. Before you buy, think back to what was popping up a day or two before the show last NA leg.

While you are correct that there will be variance. The probability of outcomes varies greatly. Speculation based on entry numbers is there were ~25,000 entries. For the sake of this exercise let’s assume the average number of shows selected was 3. The probability of a single entry winning 0 lotteries, when entering a minimum of 3, is 66.48%. The probability of an entry winning 7 or more is 0.000018%.BF25394 said:

Via email. If you haven’t received an email from TM saying “congrats, you’re going to see Pearl Jam”, then you weren’t selected.Foriginal Sin said:Asked and not answered: how did you find out????0 -

Yeah this is the answer to the flippant "that's how lotteries go" response. If it's tough enough that you see people going 0 for 10, you wouldn't think you'd see many if any 7 for 8s.danofun said:

We have no idea how the sausage is made so I'm not saying there's some grand conspiracy. But I also wouldn't constantly jump in and tut-tut someone who is frustrated.0
