Jon Stewart hammered on dems last night for speaking out of both sides of their mouth after the Hunter pardon. I think Biden really fucked a lot of people by doing this and now they're all stuck in spin mode trying not to be the soundbyte used on conservative sites/shows.

You actually think Patel gets confirmed? It's not happening and Trump made the same bogus claims about going after Hillary and others in 2016, but when it came down to it, there was nothing there to prosecute and he knew it. It's the same thing this time. Hunter was a fucking mess for years so there probably is other shit he did, but it wasn't a crime family like the conspiracy theorists keep bloviating over.

I don't know. I keep seeing people (especially here) say that. But if you don't pay $1.4 million in taxes, the IRS is going to find out and come after you. And I keep seeing the defense of "he was paying it back." Well, yeah, after he got caught. And then he stopped short too.

According to the indictment, Hunter Biden engaged in a four-year scheme in which he chose not to pay at least $1.4 million in self-assessed federal taxes he owed for tax years 2016 through 2019 and to evade the assessment of taxes for tax year 2018 when he filed false returns.  As alleged in the indictment, to further this scheme, Hunter Biden:

• subverted the payroll and tax withholding process of his own company by withdrawing millions outside of the payroll and tax withholding process;
• spent millions of dollars on an extravagant lifestyle rather than paying his tax bills;
• in 2018, stopped paying his outstanding and overdue taxes for tax year 2015;
• willfully failed to pay his 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 taxes on time, despite having access to funds to pay some or all of these taxes;
• willfully failed to file his 2017 and 2018 tax returns, on time; and
• when he did finally file his 2018 returns, included false business deductions in order to reduce the very substantial tax liability he faced as of February 2020.

How is any of that just being political? People have gone to prison for less. I made this comparison before, Richard from Season 1 survivor spent 4 years in prison for not reporting his $1 million Survivor winnings. As far as I know, he's not Biden's son.

I believe his argument was that he had no income. His company was NOT paying him a salary. They were advancing money to him that the company considered a loan which is not reportable on your income taxes.

The IRS stepped in and basically said that the "loans" were disguised compensation and made the company report it as such. Fraud? Probably not. Horribly bad advice? Absolutely. I imagine his tax preparer got in trouble for that shit.

But given that Trey Gowdy and Lindsay (flip flop floozy) Graham have agreed that if it weren't Hunter Biden then no charges would have been filed I think we can agree that it was bogus to file criminal charges for that. The special counsel couldn't find anything else except for the gun charge.

You're not wrong, but it's fair to point out they've been investigating the Bidens for years now & the only real dirt they've come up with on Joe is that he's not in touch w/ the grandchild his dirtbag son had out of wedlock.

This ain't 2016. Those guardrails from back then are broken. 

If he steps down, I think Trump will name him Deputy Director so he still has about as much power and does not need confirmation.
