great shows but I can tell you without hesitation that many, many  shows from 1996-2016 were all better than these - which were great but all time? Stop

Hartford 2010 was one of my faves, Probably somewhere in my top twenty.  Hartford 2006 was one of the worst non festival shows I ve ever been to.
That 2006 show was awful. That crowd was completely dead, zero vibes. As a result I said I wouldn’t go back to Hartford, well I fucked up. That 2010 show was amazing…actually that whole May 2010 run was peak PJ

  • 2016 Fenway N1 has to be their best Fenway show. The vibe was electric in that building for their first show there. 32 songs. Release + Long Road to open. It was another election year, so they pulled out an intense version of Masters of War. Down, Society, plus an amazing version of Black with all the flashlights and Bronson Arroyo sitting in (pic below). They played Strangest Tribe, for crying out loud! Great fucking show.

Nailed it.  Though I’d start with ‘94 and end at 2014.  But yeah in that 20 year span 85% of the shows crush anything we’ve seen since.  Doesn’t mean shows aren’t still a blast- it just would’ve been impossible to sustain that level of greatness forever.

I went in 2010 and I was glad that I did.

The crowd, for me, is the crowd. Crowd has to really make me notice one way(loud/crazy, etc.) or the other(basically sitting on their hands, not seemed to be into the show, etc.)

Hartford 2010 was a good/fun show and that crowd bought it that night.
I'd say Hartford crowds are made up largely of diehards from Boston area and diehards from NYC area with a few diehards from Philly area and the only casual fans are those who are local CT folks.
So, the crowd has a far smaller percentage of casuals than shows in the bigger markets. Has made for some great crowds and great shows in that city.
    This weekend we rock Portland

2016 Fenway N1 has to be their best Fenway show.

    N2 > N1 by a large margin for me

Nah, keep going to Fenway 2016 because those shows were epic. The other Fenway shows were excellent but 2016 was another level.

The fact that I saw two excellent Pearl Jam shows in 2024 at Fenway Park is something that I am very grateful for and I don’t take it for granted.

I always enjoyed N1 more but the majority seem to choose N2.  Both nights were epic so 2018 could not match.

I've been thinking about how to rank the Fenway shows. As always, these will probably have changed by the time I finish typing. Top to bottom:

    2016 N2
    2018 N1
    2016 N1
    2024 N2
    2024 N1
    2018 N2

The bottom two are basically a coin toss.

    That makes sense.

I wish they played ther this Tour. Maybe next time they tour East Coast? If so, I'll try my best to be ther.

I WISH I was at N-1. I could only make N-2 that year.

Everything is subjective obviously but N1 Fenway was probably my least favorite set of the 7 shows I saw in 2016 (both MSG, both Wrigleys, both Fenways, and Tampa)…and that’s coming from a Bostonian.

    2016 N2
    2024 N2
    2024 N1
    2018 N1
    2018 N2

2018 was just fine to me.

With all due respect....nothing ever tops a PHILADELPHIA PJ show.

Fenway looked like a great time though.

I wasn’t there, but watched the stream of Philly 1, it was up there with the best of the past decade.
